Hi Loobi,

I am 39, OH is 39 we have 3 kids, I have one and he has two. My DD is 22 and married with 2 kids (boy 18mths, girl 2mths), DSD is 20 with 1 kid (girl 16mths), and DSS is 17.

In 2002 we were PG and did not know it until loss. tried for a year and nothing. 2003 was on Clomid for 6 months and nothing, hormone injections and IUI and nothing. Then we had a consult with our fertility specialist and he suggest IVF. I was very concerned because he told us the minimum he would put in is 4 and if all mature we could keep them all or go with a deselection process (pick and choose which one to terminate). To each its own, but OH and myself would not be able to do something like that, because you could turn around and loose them all.

We have not been trying ever since. Then my birthday came in March 20 + 19, and I said we will give it a go for another year and see what happens. Dr. told me to enjoy my grandchildren and honeymoon with my OH. Needless to say I gave him a few choice words and switched Dr.'s. Next Dr. I told what happened and I think he was a little terrified. I am a Brooklyn, NY girl (lol), and mixed (African American & Caucasian).

I have no one to talk to because one my age, and two because people are ignorant and with me being part African American, they don't beleive in infertility.

That's my story and I am sticking to it!

Thanks Amos2009! Hope you are doing well!!! I guess my temp rise may be an indicator that Im coming down with a bit of something...since my earlier post, my throat has become sore and I feel kinda crappy  Hope its nothing a little Tylenol wont cure! Im approaching my best BD time and sure dont wanna be sick!! :hugs: to you! I hope to get online more this evening ~ at work now and trying to keep myself from spending the whole day on BNB! The Computer Dept guys are starting to give me "the eye" so either Im just really paranoid 8-[ or they are on to me!

Hey girls!! And I mean "girls".... none of this "i feel like an old fart" business.... ok, enough of that!

I am 39, only 3 months short of the big 4-0 and DH will be 41 next month. We conceived DD in March 2005 with NO trouble.... our first month together, were NTNP and I might just add here that she is an absolute doll and such a blessing!! (gush!)
We are now ttc #2, and only been trying couple months... see how we go, cos I refuse to believe a number can affect ones chances.... does it not depend on LOTS of stuff....?! Gd lk girlies and babydust to all of us young farts!!
:dust:

Ooo can i add meself to this thread as im well old lol. Im 42 and OH is 37, we are trying for our first.

Sunshine- sorry about your Mom :( It's always tough to lose a parent- they are supposed to be invincible almost. I lost my Dad a few years back and I still miss him every day.

My Mom was and will always be my hero! She had beat cancer and was doing great and then all of the sudden Wham! Felt like somebody ripped my heart out! This was just June 29 of this year so still very fresh. I want to call her everyday and so instead I get on BNB and tell all you lovely ladies what's happening in my life! This site is a god send and has been for as long as I have been on here.

Thanks Amos :hugs: so sorry about your dad! It does get easier doesn't it?

:nope::nope::nope::nope::nope: I'm so sorry for your mother..:nope: :hugs: When i read this, it's like i can hear you crying while reading this out loud. I know she is in a better place. How have you been?

Do any of you know anything about the men who are past 45..Any problem with their swimmers?

I was wondering about that too. My OH is 40 and has an 11 year old from a previous life. Just wondering if his so called 'super sperm' will still be as super now!
VJK - I can sympathise! I am also working in education training teachers and I am doing my masters at the same time! I have a paper due next week but B&B is too big a distraction! :dohh:

thanks sharonf :flower:

sometimes i worry that teaching, writing my masters and being 36 is not a winning combination for making :baby:

ho-hum

:dust: to you all!

Ha ha this is the part that bites! Men can father children well into their 60's yet we are on the trash heap alot earlier! My dh's uncle is in his 70's and he has 2 kids 11 and 6, so his were still working fine in his 60's, I often wonder why Mother Nature made this so! We get alot of couples round here too who bring much younger wives home from overseas, you see heaps when you go grocery shopping, you think the toddlers in the shopping trollys are their grand kids till you hear them call him Daddy!

i found these:
