39 weeks - belly shrunk?!

The doctor has been saying for weeks that the baby has already dropped and she is in the correct position for delivery. I was just sitting in my recliner reading when all of a sudden I noticed my belly felt kind of empty! It felt soft and flat. I have a sting that I cut to measure around my belly at 36 weeks and a couple days ago I wrapped it around me and noticed I grew about an inch around. I just wrapped it around me again and it looks like my belly is about an inch and a half smaller than it was a couple days ago. Is this a normal occurrence? Maybe she is just in a strange position??

I can't remember this happening to me but sounds normal maybe your baby is nearly ready to come out so your bump has dropped a lot! Or it could be just your LO in a funny position, i remember my belly when I was pregnant would go some strange shapes! and one day be pretty high then the next really low! Kian was such a wriggler!
