3cm dilated. Had a show. Had a membrane sweep. Contractions still not close enough..

Hi ladies. I'm 37 weeks & 4 days.

Monday 10pm (37 weeks & 2 days) - I started having contractions. I was having them all night, 7 minutes apart but they where very strong (in my bump, back & legs). Had a bloody show. I went into hospital and was put on the monitor. Had VE and was told cervix was still thick but 3cm dilated.

Tuesday 6am - Was sent home and told to walk around/ bounce on my ball. Was told to wait untill contractions where a bit closer together, and try to last 4 hours.

Tuesday 3pm - Lasted 9 hours, having contractions 4 minutes apart. Went back into hospital.

Tuesday 5pm - Midwife said contractions weren't close enough together and was told to go back home and try and rest, come back when they are 2 - 3 minutes apart or my waters break. Had another VE and was still 3cm but cervix had thinned out but still not 'paper thin'. Midwife said if it was paper thin then she would said i was in established labour. Had a membrane sweep.

Tuesday 8pm - Had a hot bath after having very strong contractions (after my sweep) and had a big show! Bath seemed to calm contractions down so i managed to sleep.

7am - Woke up with contractions but had no real pattern to them. They where between 9 - 11 minutes apart. Been getting stronger ones all day.

Was just wondering, if you have had a sweep, how effective was it? And does it take long to get from the 3cm stage?

Really want to have my baby tonight or tomorrow as the pains are really bad and i just need to get some gas and air or something. Just don't wanna get to the hospital and be sent back home again!

Any advice would be great x x

Sorry I cant be much help hun, I went from nothing to 4cm really quick then stuck at 4cm... here is some fairy dust to help your labour along though, fingers crossed for you xx

It can sometime take a long time, well in my experiance it has...Just keep upright as much as possible so baby head is on ur cervix as it helps dilate u better, try bouncing on ball a little bit...Stick music channel on and dance lol...Goodluck x

No advice hun, just wanted to wish u luck and hope baby doesn't keep u waiting much longer!! Get brisk walking or bouncing on a ball!! x

wow i didn't realise you could be given a sweep before 38 weeks. Hopefully your contractions will come closer together. I have been having contractions on and off for a week. I lost my plug a while ago and I am also 3cm dilated.
However the contractions are somewhat irregular even though they are painful.
Its pretty tiring...i believe its called slow labour. I hope yours doesn't drag like mine xx

Sex helps it lol.

Mine worked wihtin the 48 window slot.

Was done at 11am, fine all day, odd bit of blood/pinky mucus.
11pm that night, bang contractions started, they got to point i had to breathe through them and continued throught the night, i thought i was going have to wake OH to take me to hospital, 6am came i was shattered so tired to sleep, woke up at 8am was fine, lol.

Had a bath that morning went out did loads of walking got a chips & curry. Odd contractions from 7pm till 10pm.
Sex had 10pm, contractions started at 10:40pm. In hospital at 2am. Hollie arrived 7:37am

Dont see why hospital wont take you in at 3cm like!
