3D scan

When is the best time to get a 3D scan? I have one tomorrow when I'll be 23 weeks! I just want to the best looking ones!! I've heard when you are farther along they looked kinda more squished!!!

23 weeks sounds spot on Its not just the lack of space but when they are bigger its more difficult to get you a really good picture We had one at 27 weeks with DD and it was brilliant though the little scamp kept hiding her face lol.

With my DS, i had one at 30 weeks and they told me next time to come in sooner because Im 5'11 and he didnt have room to move due to my uterus being long and baby having no moving room. So this time i was planning on going probably around 26 weeks or so.

I had mine at 26 weeks and she was completely breech and was hiding in my placenta. I have to go back at 30-32 weeks for a make-up scan, they're hoping she turns by then so we can see her face.

i had one at 26 weeks with my son and it was brilliant !! he looked spot on to the photos when he was born. too early though and they look a little freaky :/

Well, both times we've tried to see baby in 3D it hasn't really worked out! Baby's always hiding the face, last time with both legs right in front, yesterday with both hands in front! From what we did see, the 3D images at 22 weeks were cute but baby hadn't fattened up so looked a little more skeleton-like. At 27 weeks baby was much more plump! I read that they look pretty much the same from around 25 weeks until birth. So, in my opinion, the best time to go for one would be after 25 weeks. Hope you get some great shots!

i went with DS at 28 weeks and it was amazing and he looked gorgeous. was plenty of room in front of face

I've got one this weekend at 27:5 so I'm hoping it's OK. However, he's got a habit of hiding himself so I don't hold out much hope!

I heard between 26 & 28 weeks is a good time.

when i booked mine was told about 25weeks as baby will have put on some fat so will look more like a baby as we expect to see them and not skinny... i wouldnt worry tho as you will be amazed and will enjoy seeing your bubba whatever stage you are at because even at 9 weeks i thought my lo was amazing xx

Everyone told me not to go too early but I went at 24 weeks and she was perfect, she wasnt too skinny or "not babylike"...you could see exactly what she looked like, best thing ever!! Iv attached the pic so you can see....

ive bookeed mine for 5 weeks time i be 27 weeks with babybond.iam not sure what to expect or be any good.anybody had babybond at 27 weeks.what do u see really?at 20 weeks i saw the baby which was lovely though they told me it could be a girl.so hoping to find out the sex properly if they can tell me

I had mine done at babybond they are lovely!! They sexed the baby as we couldnt find out on 20 week scan, and we had some great pics and a dvd would well recommend them!! xx

Mine is booked for 22nd Oct, I've already had a gender scan about 5 weeks ago. I was advised to wait until 28 weeks as baby hasn't put enough fat on until then and can still look a bit skinny if it's too early. Much after 28 weeks and, like others have said, there's not enough room and baby is squished up.

oh great so if i re book it i lose my deposit i think i leave it and ait and see i think i be 27 + so mite be ok got me worried now

you should be fine being only a week earlier, face and everything will be fully formed, maybe just a tiny bit slimmer tan they will be at birth but easily distinguishable.

I was gonna go for one at 30 weeks, worried now that that is too late... may go for a could of weeks earlier x

my profile pic is my 3d 4d scan at 24 weeks and my baby doesn't look skinny or not formed,I would defo recommend one! Also if you needed to rebook they carry your deposit over so you don't lose it coz I changed mine! Xx

I won't be able to compare 24 weeks to 28 weeks side by side so won't really know if it's true or not. It's just what the scanning place advised when I asked them what the best time was to come to get a good 3d scan of the face that will give us a good idea of what the baby will look like when they are actually born

my avatar is her face at 20 weeks and she looks great to me but they said there will be a big difference on the next scan.

ive worked out that i be 28 weeks pregnant by 22 that should be ok shouldnt it? or should i phone and make it 30 weeks
