3dpo and need a cavity filled

Hey ladies, I ovulated on Friday and when I had my teeth cleaned this morning the x-rays showed a cavity. My dentist said it can not wait to be filled and scheduled an appointment for me for Wednesday. I'll be 5dpo then, is it ok to have the filling done? He's going to use a topical gel first and then a few shots of novocaine around the tooth to numb it. I'm thinking that since the egg wouldn't have implanted yet, I should be ok right? What are your opinions?

My guess you would be okay...I would let your dentist know your ttcing ... I wouldn't stress
out .

Should be fine as implantation typically does not happen till 7-12dpo .

I have had some minor dental work done. I had a filling last week at 16.5 weeks pregnant and have another one scheduled for this week at 17.5 weeks. They said if I needed an X-Ray, I could only do one or two and would have to wear a large protective cape. I didn't need any, but probably would have refused that regardless out of my own paranoia. I did have novocaine and they were well aware of my pregnancy when I made the appointment and I also reminded them right before the shots to make sure. They said it was absolutely safe, but that I could not get the full set of X-Rays or the standard first patient appointment procedures until after the baby was born. Fillings and cleaning only. I had chipped a front tooth and was scared that it would actually break from the chip (and it wasn't very pretty, lol), which was why I had called to make the initial appointment otherwise I probably would have just assumed I couldn't get dental work like that done while pregnant, but they assured my it was just fine. The dentist has been working in the office for over 30 years, so I know he is experienced with different circumstances. If your nervous about it, I would call your physician and verify it to at least give you piece of mind. Good luck
