Hello ladies,
My LO's been sort of struggling whenever she poops. It's been going on for couple of days now. She poops very little (compare to her 'normal' poops) and the consistency isn't loose but sort of 'puree'ish - like tomato puree. So not solid but def. not loose as it used to be. What could this be? I've not changed my diet, eating more or less the same thing I've been eating since she was born, drinking the same amount of water I used to.
Thanks very much.

At around 6 weeks my LO went from going 3-4 times a day to once every 4-5 days- it's also gone from being very liquid to a paste like consistency, I mentioned to my HV who seemed to think it was normal. If your LO is struggling to go you could drink some fresh orange juice- I find that works a treat for helping them 'go' :)

as their digestive tract matures, they start to take more nutrients from the breastmilk. Its why you don't actually increase the quantity of milk they eat as they get older, their bodies just get better at digesting it.

My guy went from several poops a day (his record was 14, though that was as a newborn... he was averaging 4-5 up until about 3.5 months). He has started to poop less frequently, even has gone a day without pooping a couple times.
Definitely know about the 'puree' consistency you are talking about.

My understanding was that this was a normal, healthy, expected change as he gets older.
