Just took a test this morning. Period not due until Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed for a sticky baba.

But what the hell do I do now? Doctors appointment? When? It's been 6 years since my last baby, no idea what I have to do!

You can see your gp. Especially if you have any medical history to affect pregnancy. But your booking won't be till 8-10 weeks with midwife. I'm also in the 6+years since pregnancy club :)

It depends where you're from and what country. I'm from the UK but south west and don't need a doctors appointment, just book in to see a midwife and wait till 8-10 weeks for the booking appointment as they wont see you before that. Then post that there's the 12 week scan which they book you in for and then the 20 week scan which is again booked for you. You'll have a midwifes appointment prior to the 20 week scan and then you don't see anyone unless you feel/they feel something is an issue till basically the end.

I was thinking just the other day how little contact I have had with my MW and could swear I saw her more last time.

Thank you!

I suffered with postnatal depression with my son, quiet bad. Suffer with anxiety and depression now, on tablets so want to get a Drs appointment asap to make sure they will be okay to take. In determined that this time will be a happy pregbancy and baby. My mum had cancer when I was pregnant last time and died when my son was 6 weeks old. :(

I'm so sorry that your last pregnancy was difficult and post baby you lost your mum :hugs:. I suffer from anxiety and depression too and have managed thus far to not be on any medication with support from my doctor and I have an extra appointment with my MW in a few weeks just to check up on everything. There are many support groups out there and your MW should be able to refer you to a specialised MW who deals with pregnant women who have depression during pregnancy. I know there are some meds you can take whilst pregnant and the doctor will be able to explain the pros and cons of each medication and the one your on now.

Really hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy this time round :hugs:

I have a 7 year old son, so huge gap for me too, I vististed doctors yesterday, he just put my LMP into the computer, reviewed my meds & told me to to ask at reception for a app with midwife, receptionist took my details and handed me a welcome pack. Sorry to hear about your mum, my mum had cancer when I was a little girl so know how stressful it can be.

Lol that's what I thought too when I took the pregnancy test. So I called my doctor, who told me to get a blood test to confirm. Once it was confirmed, my regular doctor referred me to an OBGYN and I started making the appointments with them. Congratulations btw! :)
