Oh, on the money end, if you feel that you dont need it, you can say no to it. Unless he was concerned that Finn is REALLY small, I bet a second opinion would tell you if you didnt want to spend money on the ultrasound that it wouldnt be a big deal.

The same thing is with me they say my LO is measuring small but I'm also small too

Hmm thats a tough one. What did your Mw say? I would go for the scan hun just incase. I bet he is fine x

:hugs: What a bummer. But at least you'll get to see him again!
When I was seen by the doctor at my practice she told me the same thing, that Livi was measuring small and that I needed a scan. She ranted off about "children having children" and how they have low birth weight, etc. Ironically she's the one who delivered Olivia. All 8lbs 4oz of her. You should have seen her face when the nurse called off her weight. :haha:

I posted my bump pic which in my opinion is huge but my mw said my LO is measuring small atm as he's lying across me. . . i was told not to worry as he was measuring big at 21week scan, dnt worry your little man will be fine xoxo

Sigh. I like my midwives. I don't want appointments with doctors anymore.

Because my due date is so close to Thanksgiving, my midwives (there's two in the practice) want to make sure that I meet with the doctors in the practice as well. Today was my first appointment with one of them Dr. Yoo.

He came in very quickly, seemed rushed, really kind of..on edge. He just didn't give off a good vibe. He went over my glucose challenge results and said that they were fine (which is good, because my midwife called yesterday and said that I was on the edge of the cut off and thought I should go in for the 3 hour, but to see what Dr. Yoo said and if he said I didn't need it...to not go get it.)

He poked around at my stomach, measured me, and said he feels that baby is measuring too small for almost 30 weeks and that I need to go to an ultrasound.

:( I'm pretty sure Finn is fine size wise. He has been at all my other measurements and ultrasounds. However, I'm a really thin girl and have a really long torso...so I'm sure he feels smaller than he should (if that makes sense), his movements and everything have been consistent as well. I'm not really worried, but the doctor didn't really put my mind at ease either!

So now I have an ultrasound scheduled for September 28th to check for growth, and a midwife appointment that same day. I'm excited to see him, however insurance only covers about half the cost of the ultrasound so we have to pay $107. :/ Worth it of course, but still a bit of a downer!

My firstborn was measuring small.

I had to have fortnightly growth scans throughout the 3rd trimester and ended up being induced at 37 weeks because he wasn't growing properly.

He weighed 4lb 12oz when he was born and was in SCBU for 3 days.

I would say it's definitely worth getting checked. Small babies can have complications during labour and after they're born, so it's best to be prepared.

On the other hand, they were concerned about my nephews growth and thought he would be small, and he turned out to be almost 8lb!

at least you get to see bubs again! I'm sure everything is fine though.....I don't like a lot of dr at my practice. one of them was straight rude to me, something about "young mothers never have the father" it's like...um first of all I'm 20. second of all, my boyfriend is WORKING. god I hate people.

Awh my LO was measuring small at last mw appointment but she didn't seem worried at all. She just said because i'm quite small my body isn't going to make a baby too big for me :D thank you body! I wouldn't worry, and atleast you get another scan :D..xx
