5 days overdue and fed up

Hi there just thought i would write a little thread as i feel like i am going mad waiting around for something to happen.
My due date was tues 7th sept and i am now 5 days overdue. So fed up never thought i would actually get to this point as i had my other daughter at 36+5 so was hoping to go early again this time round but wasn't to be.
Had a midwife appointment wed where she carried out a membrane sweep and from what she said she reckoned i would be in labour by that night or the following day but she was wrong as i'm still here 4 days later.
I have tried allsorts of self induction techniques but nothing has worked so far so just gonna give up now and hope baby will just come when it's ready.
I have a term +10 appointment booked at the hospital for friday at 2pm but really don't want to have to get to that point where i have to be induced as i am planned in for a home birth which will not be possible if i needed to be induced.
I have still not lost my bloody show although i didn't lose this until in active labour with my first. I have been having lots of tightenings and cramp like pains on and off for well over a week but nothing strong or regular that leads to contractions, however with my daughter i was not experiencing proper contractions at all and she was born anyway.
When i had my sweep on wed i was 3/5 engaged over 1 cm dilated cervix was 0.5 cm thick and central so hopefully its progressed a little since then.
Just wish this labour thing would hurry up and happen anyone else feel the same?

Sorry for your pain! I've officially joined the overdue club too- I'm now 40.1, I've had one failed sweep and barely any signs of going into labour apart from 2 false starts in week 37. I'm praying I too can avoid induction as I want a water birth....Anyhoo, happy labour dust to you!

I know it's really poo waiting. My daughter was 8 days late, it's hard because from 37 weeks you start to think ooo any time now so it feels like forever! When I was pregnant we knew a girl due after me n she went 3 weeks early. I was like, what?!! So frustrating.

All I can say is it won't be long now, even if you don't go naturally. I imagine it's just too comfy in there. Your first baby probly decorated it all nice, got a tv in there n everything xx

I'm 1 day behind you I was due on Wed 8th and also fed up. They tried to do a sweep on Thurs and said it wouldn't work as my cervix was so far back. I'm the same been having period pain on and off ad lots of tightenings. It just goes to show every baby is different as my first (my Angel)was two days early and my second was two weeks early. I hope it happens soon for us.

Just wanted to say i feel for ya hun, i convinced myself with my first i would be early, went 8 days over in the end, its shite isn't.

But it cant go on forever, not that that will make you feel any better really!xxx

I dont know how you're managing! I am 37 weeks tomorrow and am impatient already esp. as a girl from my AN class gave birth 5 weeks early! I am so jealous!

I was due on the same day as you, Tuesday 7th. I am now so fed up and emotional I don't think my hubby knows what to do for me at times lol. We have tried everything but its not working - I've also not had my show

I have a midwife tomorrow and hope to have my sweep then / Tuesday and also my inducement will be booked as well.

I'm now a day overdue and I'm going crazy. No one even thought I'd make it to August I've been so big, let alone my due date and now I'm a day over. I am just so sick of everyone saying "Where's the baby?" "You haven't had her yet?"...Obviously not. Ugh But I have an appointment next Thursday to check everything then they'll schedule my induction if she still hasn't arrived.
