hi i found out 9 days ago i was pregnant, as i was having a few stomach pains which was more on one side they thought it was eptopic, I've been going hospital every 48 hours since to get my hcg levels measured, they have gone from 219 to 5462 which i was told was good. I started having light brownish discharge on sunday which i was told by the hospital was normal. I went in for a 5 week internal scan yesterday, i was told although its early they should see something as my hormone levels are high, they found a cyst on my ovary which i was told was normal, but they couldnt find anything else, the lady doing the scan said she couldnt understand why she couldnt see anything and she didnt know what was going on. At one point she thought she may have seen something but she couldnt be sure. I was basically sent away without any explanation saying to go back in 8 days time for another scan and i was given a leaflet saying i had either lost the baby or was going to lose the baby or that our baby had stopped growing. Obviously me and my husband are very worried and upset and we dont know what to think, can anyboby please help.

i cant give you any answers hunny but i didnt want to just read and not reply.. hopefully they will see something next time you go... i had a ectopic 4 yrs ago but that was confirmed by scan im my right tube so im assuming its not that .. hope everything turns out ok for you. lots of baby dust xx

Try to relax and not worry (so hard I know!), but 5 weeks is WAAAAAAAAY early to see the bean on a scan. Even an internal one. I can see why they scanned if you were having bleeding but otherwise I don't know why they do them so early! All it does is make parents worry. It is so small, look at some of the tickers - apple seed! What they say about early scans is that even a couple days can make a major difference, like women who don't hear find the heartbeat at 6 weeks but do at 6+4.

Again try not to worry and be positive about your next scan. Hang in!
