5month wait??

Hi Girls
Im on here more to rant than anything else!
So i dont want to or wish to offend anybody!
I rang my gynae Dr sec today to find out when i wud most likely get a appointment
Kinda wish now i hadnt! She said yes we received your referral,the waitin list is 5months! I cud have dropped!
She asked me what it was about,so i said we were tryin for a yr and nothing,then she piped up,"Oh! maybe youve been referred to the wrong dept prehaps you shuda been referred to fertility?
I said i didnt know? What wud that mean? So she then said i will bring this to Drs attention when i see him.
I told her My doctor had led me to beleve becus of my age i wudnt have long to wait,she said Yes thats sometimes the case but there r other criteria to follow age,previous pregnancies etc......But not to worry becus at 40 i had a good chance of sum help becus "youre old"........Lovely!Felt bad enuf without being reminded about my age and Biological clock

Thats crap, sorry you are being messed around. So do you have an appointment booked now?
We were messed around too as our gp made the referral then the hospital rang me to say we were booked into the wrong clinic but it was ok as she cancelled the fertility apointment and booked me in for the colposcopy clinic!! Ahhhh, I had to explain that that was something I went through two years ago so the gp included the paperwork but we were meant to be going to the fertility clinic. She said she couldnt change it back with out having to call my gp surgery. Ammatures, really!!!

Im real worried now,because i will be 41nxt August!
Im wonderin after i get my 1st appointmen when will the nxt stage happen?
Time really isnt on my side here!!
I dont know what else to do now!!

Have you tried asking for a cancellation? If it were me, I would just keep pestering them!!

I thought it was too long!!I did say i cud take a cancellation!!!
And yes i will torture them until they just say FFS get that mad cow outta out hair!!
Give her an appointment asap!!

I would kick up a stink if possible, phone up find out if there's anyway possible to get an earlier appointment, I find it hard to believe their soonest appointment is in 5 months! can they not refer you to a different fertility clinic in that case if they are so busy?
With me, don't know if it's the same for you, I got referred to a sub-fertility clinic (for pcos), was amazed when I managed to book an appointment online for 3 weeks after my referral, turned out it was too good to be true and they actually weren't running that clinc anymore so they cancelled it, told me 2 days before it was cancelled I was gutted, couldn't get another appointment for 2 months, I found out they ran the sub-fertility clinic on Thursdays (at my local hospital) so phoned up every single Wednesday for the next 5-6 weeks lol, managed to get a cancellation for one week before, I know it doesn't sound much but every little helps

I havent been diagnosed yet,but think theres a problem
We've always been lucky and hit the nail on the head in the past
So cant help but think theres a bigger prob now?
Im gonna ring them each wk til they give me a appointment!
I really dont care if it pisses them off,becus as sumbody else said if ya dont ask ya wont get! Which is v true
Im ragin my Doc left it until now to refer us esp as theres such a long waiting list! Found out i shud have been referred after 6months becus im 40! So not imprest with her
Mind you when i went to speak to her 8months ago she said r u wise at ur age? COW!!!!!
So she must have got fed up with my visits and decided to refer us 2wks ago

It sounds v promising! Read up a bit more,im gonna try get into my local health shop and see if they have them!
Im so desperate now i feel if i wait for the Gynae app i cud still b in same position a year frm now!!

I will keep everybody up to date!
Rang my Gynae docs sec as i said i wud!! lol
She said we had been updated! Woo hoo!! To infertility not Gynae!!
Still 5 month waiting list tho!!
She said becus or the details they held on me i wasnt high priority!
So i asked! She procedded to tell me about my 1yr old,my mmc,my 13 yr old and 20yr old!! Er..........................They arent my children i said...
Ive a 18yr old,11yr old and a 21 month old! She laughed and said i did wonder if it was a twin mmc? WTF?
So the upshot was still 5month wait,so i asked did the Doctor do private,she says sometimes so im now waitin for either a call frm him or a cancellation!
Greatttttttttttttttt day!!NOT!
