6 week check (UK)

UK ladies, what happened at ur 6 week check? I had mine today (altho baby is now 7 weeks) and its just dawned at me that she didnt check my stomach or examine to make sure everything was ok.. is that normal now? It was more about the baby... whereas I remember having my tummy felt and checked down there after my daughter 5 years ago.

Yup - the guy I saw just asked me about contraception, breastfeeding and how I was doing. I was checked on day 10 though (I think) by a midwife at my last midwife check before being handed over to the health visitors.

We had this with our gp. Baby was checked against a list of things & so was I. They felt my tummy & that was pretty much it, but still, you should be checked over too.

I'd ring & ask if that should have been done

the one with the gp - she checked over baby and just asked me how i was feeling and felt my stomach (id had a section).

with my son 5 years ago my stomach was checked but I just found out today mum now don't have 6 week checks at my doctors

Here the checks seem to be separate for mum and baby. I had one for my daughter at 6 weeks, where they did the hip dsyplasia assessment, weight/length, talked about how she was feeding/doing, etc. with the GP. But they didn't do anything with me. There is a separate check up for mums, which I personally didn't schedule as I didn't feel like I had anything to talk about.

I had mine yesterday and they didn't examine me. I was surprised as they did 3 yrs ago with my dd. Was a bit of a waste tbh. My ds one is at 8 weeks.

At mine they only checked DS, the doctor asked how I was feeling and if I had any worries but that was about it.
