6 week check?

For those of you that have had your 6 week check... I was just wandering what happened? I had my little boy 6 weeks ago by forceps delivery and had to have an episiotomy. I was told off a few people that I would have an internal at my 6 week check and that my stitches would be checked but I had nothing of the sort, my GP just asked me how I was feeling, if I was still bleeding and he asked me about contraception.

I was just wandering if this is normal? My stitches haven't been checked since I was discharged from hospital. I think they have healed now but it would be nice to know for certain!

I'm in the US, but I had an internal exam at my pp appointment.

I'd go back to your GP and ask for a check up. It'll be peace of mind for you! I don't have mine until 8 weeks PP!
