6 weeks ebf... Is this normal?

Hi ladies ... Lo is six weeks yesterday and We ebf...

My lochia stopped two weeks ago and today I started bleeding bright red!

I stated the mini pill about 5 days ago...
Is this normal? Is this my period?

I thought u weren't supposed to get it?

My LO was 6 weeks on Monday and also ebf. My lochia stopped at week 4 and then a week ago I started bleeding again for 3 days. It can't be period can it? I googled it and it said pp bleeding can stop and start but in not sure.

Yes pp bleeding can stop and start again. This has also happened to me and to a few other girls I know. Don't worry it's not your period Also, my ob/gyn told me that pp bleeding usually lasts 40 days and that if it stops then it's likely to start again. HTH

I rang my mw this morning and she said its probably my period

It looks and seems like my period and I have had a few cramps... Not painful but normal ones I get... I have my check up in 8 days so i will know if my period by then or whether there's still bleeding from birth... Mw said you shouldn't bleed bright red again this far from birth ... Dunno if that's accurate ...

I hope it's only pp bleeding coz I reli don't want my period again yet lol

I haven't had my period yet but I know some breastfeeders do get it back very early, so it is possible

Your mw could be wrong because although my bleeding got less as time went by, it was always bright red

I had a 'period' type bleed at 4 weeks pp when my lochia had almost stopped. I have the implant in. I think it's the same hormone as the mini pill??

Well it's def my period... Bloated cramps and lots of bleeding just like my period...

I had light, bright red bleeding for 2 days at about 8 weeks.

Just breakthrough bleeding I think.

But your pill could be affecting it too I guess. I'm not going to use hormonal BC while BFing so can't help there. Xx

I had a light bleeding from 6 1/2 weeks till 8 weeks postpartum and my ObGyn nurse said it could be period or even lochia, although my initial PP bleeding stopped at 3 weeks pp. She said that light bleeding is normal for the first 3 months PP, on and off, and doctors are more concerned about heavy bleeding accompanied by fever and chills.
