7/8 months what to eat

i give up im useless! help me !

right now all he has is baby food, mashed up fruit (all fruit)
and if hes in the mood i mix potato/chicken/pease/carrot mash it and feed him.

thats it! i feel like there so many more options out there but i just dont know what to give him. i tried finger held baby biscuits, he chokes. i tried beef once, he loved it but its pricey, im trying to get him into finger foods but i dont know how to start really. i tried giving him bread, he just makes it into little crumbs and plays with it not even putting it into his mouth.

Don't worry hun, I am in the same boat!!

All I give Isobelle is baby food and mashed up things too.

That's partly because I am a crap cook, would poison her, and because I am terrified of her choking.

Do you mean gags or chokes? My baby gags sometimes and that's not abnormal - they learn quickly from it and get better everyday. Choking is quite different.

im not sure. i made spaghetti today can he have that? its mushy. what about mince meat? too strong for baby?

I give my LO mince meat, if we have spag bol so does she

Coralie has loads of different finger foods, handheld biscuits, crackers, bread, bagels, avocado, melon, tomato, mozzarella, potato waffles, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pizza (haha a little bit junky - but it's not all the time!), apple, pineapple, brocolli, green beans, mangetout, baby sweetcorn... you name it, she has it!

For purees, i'm feeling a little out of it myself at the moment, but the last batch I made up was:

Chicken Casserole
Chicken with Sweet Potato and Grape
Beef with Carrot and Parsnip
Plaice with Broccoli in a Cheese Sauce

You should get the Annabel Karmel book, How to feed your baby and toddler. Mine's proved invaluable

ETA I recently gave her wraps with mashed avocado in, she loved them! I gave them to her with red pepper strips and cheese sticks. Like her own mini mexican when we had fajitas! I didn't give her a margarita though
