70%.. How reliable?

So i had my scan on thursday and sonographer asked if we wanted to know the sex and we agreed.
i saw 3 white lines a few times as she skimmed past this area while doing measurements however when it came to acctually checking, LO's legs where in an akward position and half of her foot was covering part of the bit we needed to see.
Anyways she still showed us, but said she could only be 70% certain that we were having a baby girl
She did seem pretty sure though to me, and even when LO's foot was in the way i could still see 2 and a half white lines lol.

Im just wondering if anyone thinks it would be worth getting a private scan done in a few weeks to confirm or is 3 white lines definately a girl? do you get any white lines with a boy??

If you definately want to know for 100% I would go for a private - we all hear of the occasions when they get it wrong!

If you turn up in the hospital with loads of pink and it's a wee man it's going to be somewhat of a shock! Better to be 99% or whatever the highest they can offer you is

at my 16 week scan they saud they could only be 70% sure it was a boy cos hes leg kept getting in the way, on my 20 week scan they comfirmed it def is a boy x

I think with seeing the white lines yourself it is quiet acurate but i would put yourself at ease and book a gender scan in a few weeks to go wild pink shopping lol xx

with my daughter there were definite 3 white lines and this time with my son, his showed like 3 little dots...looked to me like the top of a bowling ball (at 16 weeks) then at the 20 week scan you could see the unmistakable shape of his little "goods". It was so cute but nothing at all that looked like any kind of lines. If I were you I'd have to be scheduling another scan to be sure bc it would drive me crazy not being sure. But I'm just super impatient! Good luck to you!!!

Hi hun did you see it clear the lady told me boy we seen two round testies lol and the middle bit she said she was positive as I asked her twice. My partner won't let me do a gender scan cause he said I seen it clearly. Can those round things been anything else. I think I'm just not taking it in because I never thought I'd have a boy x x

Hi, 3 white lines were spotted by the sonographer at my 20 week scan. I still got a private scan done though for peace of mind. It was confirmed at my private one that she is a girl - now I can relax lol

It is pricey to get a private can done, but it was money well spent for me, as I would have driven myself crazy otherwise wondering if it was true that she was a girl!

Didn't realise how much I wanted a girl until they told me I was having one lol

im in the same position as you and well im having another scan in 8 weeks, so im saying boy with a pinch of salt untill i know 100% x x x more then likely you'll be having agirl but never be to sure! x

I will have to see if i can get the money together and get the 4D scan i think. that way i can convince other half its not just me being paranoid and that he'll get to see his little princess in 4d lol as he just keeps telling me im being stupid. my scan was my 20 week scan and there didnt seem to be and sign of a penis. i just couldnt understand why she said 70% when i was 100% convinced after seeing it. unless her eyes were elsewhere while doing the measurements which i would suspect anyway. its not that i dont believe shes a girl because i do, i guess i just keep hearing her say ''70%'' and thinking omg what if she comes out with boy bits lol x

I could of written this! It wasn't Warwick Hospital by any chance was it!

I was also told 75% chance girl but she wouldn't commit to anymore than that.

There is a place in Leamington that does mini 4d scan for £90 and you get piccies and a DVD so I have booked this for November so I at least have time to go baby clothes shopping in the January sales and can get the right colour!!
