I am 8 days overdue today..had a sweep at 40+ 3 and another at 40 + 5. The first one did nothing, the second one caused a bit of bleeding and a small amount of mucus which wasn't loads and has tailed off. I was about 2cm dilated at 2nd sweep and it really hurt whereas the first one was not uncomfortable at all, things had moved on a bit apparently and my Bishops's score was 6 but nothing since despite hoping all the time!
I have tried the usual natural ways to get things going but no joy yet.
The midwife booked an induction for Thursday which is term + 12.
Is it worth asking for a third sweep or would they do the induction any earlier? The original midwife was talking about the start of next week and then the one who did the 2nd sweep insisted not before Thursday without a medical reason. I have had bad back and spd pain and barely sleeping for weeks, which I know isn't a reason for induction, but am completely fed up and uncomfortable, any advice would be great! The baby's movements still seem good but I am getting more nervous. It was also measuring quite big and may now be even more huge!
