8 weeks measuring 6 :( anyone been in same situ

So third pregnancy after 2 beautiful girls
Hoping someone else has been here
Went for an early scan due to pink /brown cm for a week
External scan found sack and foetus but no heartbeat
They put me at 6 weeks Ish
Stil feel pregnant and crampy
They didn't seem optimistic but I no it happens
That baby will catch up within two weeks for next scan
Concerned I should of had an internal now as that prob would of shown more
Anyone been through this

Very sure on ov dates was temping and using opks
