I live in an apartment and have newish neighbors across the hall from me. Their LO is around 3/4 months and we have been having them over so the kids can interact and we can have dinner and movies and whatnot. Well they called me yesterday telling me that the rash their LO had has turned out to be Scabies. They advised us to get to a doctor and clean the house. Fair enough, but what irritates me is that last night the female half came over to fetch a plate of food I made up for them from dinner yesterday and told me that this isn't the first time their LO has had Scabies. That she has had them before and apparently never put the lotion the doctor gave them on her face or head, so I am going to assume that she had them the whole (short) time we have known them. I'm not really mad at them but part of me wonders if maybe they should have said something to me before? We have been to their apartment and vise versa. Every time I itch I'm scared to death that me and my family are infected with these things. Has anyone else had this problem? That their friends or family has 'shared' this lovely pest? Am I overacting? I've since ran around with a bleach solution to EVERYTHING and washed LOs toys and such. Washing every linen in the house is just not possible, I can not afford to go to the laundry mat anymore this month. Will that hinder the bleach solution? I even sprayed down the beds and blankets and hung them to air dry after.. I just feel so... dirty.
