I've followed b & b for around 3 yrs now and I can't believe it's finally my turn to write a birth story .
Trying to cut a long story short so as not to bore you all too much. I was under consultant care due to severe complications with my 1st Lo. He had to be delivered at 30 weeks weighing 2lb as I was suffering from severe eclampsia and hellp syndrome, placenta prevae and bleeding through out the pregnancy. Thank fully this pregnancy had been a breeze in comparison!
The key points for this pregnancy are...
-consultant requested fortnightly growth scans as of 28weeks due to previous UGR
-by 30 weeks baby Max was measuring small and at 33 weeks his growth had tailed off well below the centile chart and I had reduced liquor/fluid.
-at 33 weeks the consultant requested me to go to l & d daily for toco monitoring and a course if steroid injections for baby's lungs just incase at some point baby became distressed and had to be delivered.
-at 35+6 a growth scan showed max had static growth and barely any fluid as well little to no movement.
-consultant sent us to l& d for monitoring.... Within an hour the consultant decided he would deliver max that evening at 6.30pm!
My spinal failed again as it did last time so I had to be put under a general anesthetic.
Max was born 29th dec 2011 at 19:08, 1 month and 1 day early weighing 4lb6oz
