A slight concern - regarding engaged at 28 wks

Hola!

Saw the hospital midwife today and we knew bab was cephalic from a scan we had last week, but today I was told he was engaged (coudlnt tell how many 5ths though) because she couldnt actually feel where he was and said he must be engaged then.

Should I be a bit concerned at only 28 weeks? She said he shouldnt engage till at least 34 weeks. Which is ages away.

Anything I need to think about girls?

well my babys head was enagaged 2/5s at 34 weeks so he could have gone down anything from 32 onwards... so it does depend but the past few days and especially today i have felt unbelievable pressure down below and im scared to walk about too much because he feels like hes pushing through my cervix!!! so im guessing hes now almost fully engaged! ill find out at my 36 week appointment next thurs i wouldnt worry too much some do go down early x

nothing at all to concern you, unfortunately you could still go overdue! also, baby may engage and disengage several times before you give birth. mine has disengaged at least once x

I wouldnt worry. Sometimes babies can come back out, and being engaged is no reference as to how long it takes them to appear.

you will like how my mw described this my baby has been head down perfect position for birth his head is on the brim of the birth canal so not engaged yet but he has stayed in this position since 28 weeks my mw said imagine being stuck inside a building and yr looking at the closed automatic doors whats the point in looking at the wall you would be looking at the doors doesnt mean they will open yet just means yr ready to leave when they do !!
my baby has been ready for over a month hes apparently happy in his position my midwife says she doesnt think he will change now he will just stay down dont worry hun yr baby cant get out till yr body presses the open button !!!!
