I've had some sleep!! Quite a lot of sleep by recent standards!

My recent posts have been about my 4 wk old daughter and the struggle I have had getting her to sleep in her cot, which is in our room next to our bed. She would quite happily fall asleep on us, and allow us to move her to her pram top (in our lounge, using as a Moses basket) but if we moved her to her cot she would wake either straight away or within 30 mins.

But after watching her I realised she cried and was fully awake when she managed to get her legs free of the blanket, so I bought a swaddlepod. Last night she fell asleep at 8 whilst being fed, I let her stay on me for a while for a cuddle. I moved her to her pram top where she happily slept. At 10.30 I went upstairs and put her into her swaddlepod and into her cot. She woke (probably because of the movement of putting her in the swaddlepod) but I just shushed her and she went back to sleep (this in itself was different, she's never gone back to sleep without cuddles before). She slept in her cot for 3 HOURS:happydance: Altogether she was asleep for 5 hours, so I'm not surprised she woke when she did as she would have been hungry.

Dh came in from work at 3 am and took her downstairs for a cuddle and to get her back to sleep after her feed, but only succeeded in waking her up  so she had another feed and at 6.15 she was asleep again in her cot, where she stayed until 10.30 this morning :happydance::happydance::happydance: I'm still in disbelief, and am praying this wasnt a fluke!

The 4 hour gap of awake time from 2-6am obviously isn't ideal, but I got 6 hours of sleep last night, in my bed, some of it with my Dh, and that hasn't happened since she was born (Ive been staying downstairs all night so Dh could sleep properly as she would only sleep in the pramtop).

I am such a happy mummy, pray for me it isn't a fluke!!
