Hi ladies,

I need some truthful advice about my situation. I had a bfp via my 2nd ivf with a 1st beta at 56 and 2nd beta 2 days later at 130. I went for an early scan last week at where I should be 6 weeks 6 days but the sonographer couldn't see anything.😓 According to her there was a small area measuring 8mm x 5mm x 5mm in my womb and in her words 'she should be able to see something at this stage'. 😔

Saw a nurse after who explained things in a nicer manner. They did a beta that day which came back at 4975 & she said they were happy with that & that they'll repeat the scan in 2 weeks. She also said my embryo could have implanted late & it was only a month since ET so quite early to see a baby. With my 1st IVF we saw the sac, fetal pole & beating heart by this stage.

Does anyone have any experience of this with a healthy baby at the end? I'm so worried but praying that my little embryo/baby is developing as it should.💖

They should have seen a clear sac, yolk sac, fetal pole and hb at 6w6d if done transvaginal. Also beta 4975 is kinda low for that stage. I'm sorry but this does not sound like it will have a good outcome. But since something was seen go back in 2 weeks for confirmation on what's going on. Sorry you are in limbo :(

I agree with what Mo said. With my first, I had an ultrasound at 6w2d and saw a heartbeat. I'm sorry you're in limbo.

I agree. I had an early miscarriage never knew what was the topest my hcg went but i went in for a scan at 6 weeks and my uterus was completely empty. So it wasnt a chemical but it was and early miscarriage nothing got to develop. Hopefully you have a good outcome :hugs:

I had the exact same thing happen to me in August. My first hcg was 52 and it was over 9000 just two weeks later. In the ultrasound the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat but saw smth that could have been an embryo. I was told to go back in one week, the sac was growing but there was no embryo or heartbeat. Day later I went to get a specialists opinion (as I was on holiday visiting family at the time so I couldn't go to my ivf doctor). A few days later I had to take a few pills to make the miscarriage started. Even my dog was depressed next to me during that time, it was a very difficult thing to go through.

I really hope you will have a more positive outcome. Now I am pregnant again after our 2nd ivf so just think of the future, this may not be the baby you will be taking home but you don't know how soon in the future things will be looking better again. Most of the time there is smth genetically wrong with the embryo which is why the miscarriage happens.

What a tough situation. Hugs to you. A two week wait seems tortuous in such a nerve-wracking, scary, and potentially sad situation. Could you try and get in a little earlier, like 7w6d rather than having to wait another whole week? By this time there should be a lot of clarity, I would think.
