I have an eight week old and a 22 month old. My husband is deployed so I'm doing it all on my own right now. I'm desperate to start working out but have no idea how to do it with two kids! I'm also breastfeeding. I'm down to pre pregnancy weight but want to lose some more and also tone up before hubby gets home (could be anywhere from six to twelve months). He likes me the way I am but I want him to come home to a smokin' wife. ;)

So to those who work out and have 2+ kids, how the hell do you do it!? Do you work out at home or go to a gym. I'm also a runner but have no idea where I would find time for that. :/

Buy a kettle bell 20mins. Look up videos on YouTube il put some up if you want. Do it 5times a week it eats body fat.

We're members of a club that has daycare for infants, kids and toddlers.

What Sun said. There are gyms that have childcare facilities. Usually they will take babies 6weeks+. At the gym I went to, you could leave the 15months and under for an hour and the 16mths+ for up to 2 hours. Sometimes I would just go there to have a shower in peace!

My sister has 2 and a husband who works away, she bought a treadmill and some workout dvds! Not as nice as running outside but she gets to work out more having the treadmill at home as she can fit it around the kids

I also bought work out DVDs, I try to do it when he's in bed but when he was younger I'd do maybe 10/15 mins with him playing in his bouncer/on his play mat etc

I have a cross trainer in the garage that I use every night when the children are asleep. It helps me switch off a bit too :)

Personally I can't be bothered but if I was going to I would do a DVD like the 30 day shread or insanity if you're... Insane!
I don't think any of the gyms in this area have a crèche

I'm kind of late on the work out thing as my youngest is almost 2 and I'm just now trying to get motivated....LOL. I'm planning to do some DVDs at home, possibly some Wii dance games that my older son can play with me. And by with me, I mean he'll probably just dance around in circle beside me while I work out. lol. I've lost preg weight, but my body shape is different with a lot more weight in the tummy area that I want to get rid of.

Oh, thanks girls! I've done the 30 day shred and insanity once before, and was thinking about doing one of them again. My friend teaches crossfit classes in the mornings and tried to get me to go, but no.. just no. :haha:

I'll look into these kettlebells, although there are specific places I'd like to work on, I wouldn't mind having something that works everything!
I've thought about a treadmill, but have no idea where I'd put it. Plus I've never been a huge fan of them, I'd much rather run outside. I know there's a gym near me that has a baby room right next to the gym, with a huge window so you can watch your kids as you're working out, but there's not actually any adult in there with them so I'm a little uncomfortable with that idea. I will search for gyms that do daycare though!
It took me ages to get motivated to work out again after my daughter, and then when I finally was losing weight and feeling back to my old self, I decided to get pregnant again. :dohh: But now, I have something to actually get me motivated and can't wait to get things going!

Now, must go dig out my insanity and 30 day shred dvd's!

what time do they go to bed? I would get equipment for home, weights, work out dvds or apps etc and then do it when they sleep xx

i work out in my living room whilst there in bed and are going to trial a running group on monday that im hoping to join

Kettlebells are awesome!

20minutes it eats fat off your body and it's an all over workout with quick visible results. And it's only an initial cost.

I was looking up kettlebells on Amazon out of curiosity, and there are so many sizes! I am not in shape, so have no idea where to start. What weight would you suggest for a beginner?

I would start at 4kg jd83

They are great i used them when trying to shape up after my first lo. I didnt lose lbs as i was gaining muscle and looked more toned. Hoping to use them again at some point but not sure where to fit it in with two!!

Tabata training is also good. 20 mins of interval training in the form of cardio. If you do it properly and regularly you will definately see a difference
