Advice please - a little scared

Hi Ladies,

I am new on here just this second joined up and need some advice.

I went to the doctor this afternoon and whilst I was there I asked if although my period was not due for another two days if I should do a test as I had a 'feeling' that I may be. The doctor said no it would be a waste of money and wasn't going to do one for me until I had missed as you get false results. However I really felt I needed to confirm if I was or wasnt as I really felt odd. Anyway I did a test this evening (clearblue) and it says Pregnant 2-3 weeks. Can this be false or do you think I am? I am kinda so pleased but also really shocked and scared something will go wrong if it is true??

Any advice would be hugely hugely appreciated,

Thank you. I'm am very pleased but also in shock and feeling a little freaked tbh. Hubby is away at the minute to so I had to tell him over the phone not ideal!

You can definitely get a positive before your period! Lol.. the doc might be used to hearing women who had very faint lines because they tested really early.
Doc might also be thinking of women who have chemical pregnancies and will get a positive but their period may come a day late or so.

You took a digital, and the results indicate a nice strong HCG level, so I wouldn't worry about what that doc said, lol!! I got a line on a 10miu test at 9dpo when my blood level was only 7!! Now at 5w0d... few days ago my HCG level was up to 1055!! (I'm being monitored by a fertility specialist so they do more tests/scans etc)

I would believe the test - but the Doc was also right, it is best to wait until you actually miss a period to take an acurate test. He must get a lot of women telling him they 'feel' pregnant but if you spend any time here reading posts you'll know when you want it badly, you can feel lots of symptoms and still not be pregnant, just our minds playing tricks, boo!

I had a chat with hubby and he is so over the moon he doesnt seem as freaked as me but he is away and wishes he was here with me.

Now I have had a positive home test do I arrange an appt at the docs?

I cant believe it, I'm going to be a mummy OH MY!!! :-D

9dpo is 9 days past ovulation (usually 5 days before a period is due)
5w0d means 5 weeks, 0 days pregnant.
Usually based off of last menstrual period (LMP) or ovulation date, if known.
It means you ovulated/conceived 2 weeks ago.

If your period is due in two days, you are likely 3w5d pregnant! Might be off by a day or two for various reasons that I won't bother you with, lol.

lol, the paranoia doesn't go away... even with all my reassuring bloodwork showing my HCG going up and up, I still worry! You just have to stay positive.
4 weeks is when you have officially missed your period! I felt a bit better after I passed that point!

I got a BFP on a first response early result and clearblue easy digital 10 days before my cycle was due... faint but definitely positives so it's def possible.

Definitely! I got a positive on a clearblue digital 6 days before my missed period!
