I've posted a couple times about my situation as it progresses, but I'm going to stick with this thread now. I have some new info that makes me more confused than ever!
Here is the situation:
I've had three losses this year. All tests have come back normal and I recently switched to a fertility specialist. The only other thing he could think of that might be wrong is that I am conceiving too late in my cycle. I do ovulate on my own, however. I know that one of my losses was conceived on CD26ish.
I had an ultrasound on CD14 (Friday) to see if I was in fact ovulating too late. The ultrasound lady said that she could tell I was going to ovulate out of my left ovary but that I wasn't going to ovulate for at least a week. My FS is also a high risk doctor at the hospital, and he is on call until tomorrow so he wouldn't be back in to look at everything until Tuesday.
I continued to take my OPKs. Two days later, on Sunday, I got a *blaring* positive OPK. The test line even took dye out of the control line, it was so dark. So I thought okay, the ultrasound lady must be wrong and I did ovulate on time (that was CD16 and I have a 29-31 day cycle on average).
So according to my OPK and fertility friend, actual ovulation day is today. I'm at work and I get a call from the nurse at the FS office, and she tells me that my doctor looked at my ultrasound from the hospital and he wants me to come back in this week for another appointment because the ultrasound showed that I am in fact going to ovulate way too late and I need to start Clomid to make me ovulate on time. WHAT?!
SOOOO my question of the century now is: WHY WHY WHY did I get such a positive OPK yesterday?? Can you get a +OPK and not actually ovulate?? Is my body releasing the LH hormone too early, before my egg is ready to be released, and then it's not releasing until way later in my cycle?
I guess this would be a great question for someone who uses OPKs and temps. I don't temp. Has anyone ever gotten positive OPKs and then could tell by their temps that they didn't ovulate?
PLEASE someone help!
