Advice re sleeping please

Ever since moving LO to his cot he's not slept well he's fine for the 1st part of the night going 5+ hrs but then will only sleep another 1-2 and then thinks it's play time. This is at about 5am!!!! I'm exhausted. I swaddle him still as he was waking up because of moving around. It's the 2nd part of the night we need to crack now, any ideas?

Is he getting cold? I think that is one of the most common causes fo wake up around that time... Is he going to bed at 7? Might try a slightly early bed time might help too...

He could be getting cold as sometimes he's kicked off his blankets, but if I use the sleeping bag he startled himself awake! If it's not one thing it's another! Right so I'll check to see if he's cold. I have left bedtime up to him to decide - it's been around 7 o'clock for about 2 weeks now. I think that's early enough. He hardly spends any time with dad & gets a kiss in the morning & a kiss as he goes to bed. Any earlier and he'll not get the bedtime kiss!!!!
