advise please girls

hi i have just been to endocrinologist and they cant help me so im being refered to the assisted conception bit in another hospital, im just wondering how this all works what tests are carried out first etc thanks ladies

Have you had any tests done yet? The most common to start off with would be a CD21 blood test, semen analysis for your other half, internal ultrasound to check out your ovaries and an HSG (where dye is injected through your uterus and tubes then you are xrayed) to check your tubes are clear. x

hey thanks for replying i have had day 21 tests all were fine OH has appointment for SA in a few weeks. is the dye being injected painful? x

It's not a picnic, but it's ok. I have described it in the past as a smear test with a jet wash - most people agree with me! You just get sharp AF crapms for a couple of seconds when they inject the dye, then the odd mild AF cramp later on. Taking some good painkillers an hour beforehand sorts that out though.

I just had mine done today. It only lasts 2 minutes.. it's worse than period cramps but I was done cramping after 10 minutes. I took two tylenol 3 hours before, and two ibuprofen an hour before.. I think it helped a lot!

It wasnt as bad as I thought it'd be.. Good luck!
