Do you start AF as spotting day 1? or full blown heavy day 1? I spotted 7:30pm on aug 31st? I started my CBFM sept 1st If I want to see the day I ovulate on my calenders do I put in CD 1 as sept 1st?

CD 1 is your first day of full red flow -- the kind that requires a pad or a tampon.

as wildflower said, first day that requires more than a panty liner is considered day 1. I think it's best if you are TTC to mark down that you could have 2 possible ovulation days, so if you weren't sure of your day 1, you might just write down both ovulation days and go by that.

With CBFM if AF arrives in the afternoon or evening you're meant to count the next day as CD1. I spotted slightly yesterday and she usually arrives in afternoon for me and am expecting her this afternoon and if that happens tomorrow will be CD1 for me. Hope that helps.
