My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer  we have been TTC for over 2 years there is nothing he wants more than a baby but now with the cancer and chemo we have almost given up on concieving naturally so I guess IVF/IUI is our next option but we are no where near rich so can anyone suggest ways we can come up with the money?

Yes we can afford to take care of a baby but its a little hard to come up with so much money so soon (we want it done ASAP so we will have more time together as a family)

Hey hun

Really sorry! Sounds like a horrible nightmare you have bothe been going thru

You don't say what country you are in or your age? There are other options available to you such as egg sharing schemes depending on your age that can help reduce the cost of IVF, some insurance companies cover this in the US or you have the NHS in the UK off neither of you have children

Hope this helps as a starting point!

Im sorry I am 26 and my husband is 29 we live in the US

I'm so sorry
Here in the uk they have somthing called Egg share so you get your ivf for free if your willing to donate some of your eggs have you frozen some sperm?

Have you thought about IUI it's much cheaper :hugs:

We have one "round" of sperm being stored and yes I have thought of IUI but I am worried that it wouldn't work and then we would really be out of luck if we used all the sperm :(....I guess I just feel like IVF would give us more of a chance but I don't have much information about either (IVF or IUI)

Do you know how much sperm they use for one round of IVF/IUI?

Well they use a batch of sperm (1sample)
Do you know your reason for infertility? You need to sit down wit a specialist BC depending on the reason for fertility issues there is no guarantee with either procedure if your DH hasn't yet started treatment then I would just try iui with a fresh sample first and then use your frozen batch for ivf back up.
Before spending any precious money and time you need to find a specialist doctor that had been recommended and get the highest quality advise from them you might not even need either of those it could be ovulation so all you need is clomid or LP defect and need vit b6 the best thing to do is find the best fs around

I wish you all the luck in the world :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hey hun

Really sorry for your situation. There is IVF with ICIS with this procedure they use one single sperm to fertilise your egg. This is usually used for men with low sperm counts but if it's an issue ad your worried that there wot be enough this could be an option for you.

As for the cost, really can't help you. Here in the UK were entitled to two rounds of fresh IVF and any embies that are frozen social is not an implication for us yet. There is egg share which brings the cost down from £3500 at my clinic for private treatment to £900 if your willing to donate your eggs!

I agree with what's already been said see a doctor before you make any major decisions over what route you'll take - does your health insurance covers this?

iam from africa a country called kenya.ivf here is too expensive its for the rich only.we sold our belongings thinkinh that it will be successful for the first time.but it dint work.insurence does not cover.so frustrated
