After the last problem at work my boss is at it again, help!

Not sure if any of you remember how horrid my boss was when I told him about my pregnancy but he then apologised and has been over nice. Well now I know why...he is intending to train another nurse to do my job while I am off, wouldnt bother me but in his meeting with the girls he may want to do this he stated there is not enough hours so it wi depend if I am willing to drop hours for them, as although I am saying I'll go back full time he doubts that will happen once baby comes!!! I have been told this by one of the girls, he hasn't even mentioned it to me, so basically hes intending for a trainee to work my hours while I'm off and then me drop hours "if" I go back!!!! I am aware that I'm entitled to exactly the job I left as I am only taking 3 months off so what should I do? My OH says don't mention it as then it gives him the opening to suggest cutting hours.

Make it quite clear that you are intending to return to your exact same hours. When you give written notice of your maternity leave along with your MATB1 form, explicitly state in writing this point. You have the right to have your job held open for you for 12 months. Say that you intend to return on x date full time. Do not allow any discussion of modifying your hours. make it quite clear that you will be returning full time.

Even if you take the full 9 months off your entitled to return to your job with the same hours.

Personally I wouldn't mention it hun. If you change your mind then that is fair enough. However just think what an idiot he'll look when you do return full time!!

I gave him a letter last week stating I'm pregnant, baby's EDD when I intend to go on maternity leave and that I will be returning on 1 October, I also said I would forward my MAT B1 cert when I receive it at 23 weeks. Do you think I should give another letter when I give my MAT B1, saying I wish to continue on the hours I currently work or just leave it alone?

I would maybe do another letter with your matb1, If you go on directgov I'm sure there's a page which tells you what to include in the letter. He sounds like a total arse!

He is!! He's doing it all behind my back too, he's just nasty and loves to upset people!
