I have seen on here that lots of women take 'vitex' or 'agnus castus' and I did some research online and it listed lots of benefits such as increasing levels of progesterone and helping to balance irregular periods etc...

So I got my OH to buy some for me today but the information on the back says do not take if you think you might be pregnant or are trying to get pregnant. So now I'm worried about taking them!!

Anyone know anything more?

If you know you are not pregnant then it is safe. It helps increase your progesterone levels to help you conceive but you must slowly stop taking it as soon as you find out that you are pregnant. It cannot cause harm before and in early pregnancy, however, if you don't wean yourself off it once you are pregnant it can result in miscarriage. I took it for a month and my dr said that my progesterone levels were amazing! So I think it works, but only if progesterone levels is the problem. Unfortunately for us its not :(

That's good to know thank you. Need to pay my dr a visit. Did he do blood tests to check progesterone levels?

Yes he did. He is a fertility specialist. You do progesterone levels test on day 21 of your cycle.

My problem is that I haven't had periods for 3 months so don't have a day 21!!

I just ordered Vitex to try to make my LP longer. Right now it's 10 days and I know thats too short. I tried Progesterone cream and b6 and nothing. Do you take the vitex your whole cycle? I'm on CD1 right now... will update with results

I took it for whole cycle 1 month. I have heard of people who only take it in the beginning of their cycle.
