Hi Ladies,

I'm away on vacation now with my husband and parents. I was planning on drinking a bit (2 glasses of wine with dinners is our normal). But now I'm having anxiety in our first TWW that I'm horribly selfish for thinking like that. What do you ladies think or do? Thanks!!

I think two glasses is fine, some people drink way more an end up being pregnant without knowing.

I am trying not to drink during the TWw but if we have a social gathering, I wouldn't bat an eyelid at two glasses.

Many people drink till it's pink, or until they get a BFP. Plus if u know you are trying just keep testing so u know as early as possible.

Baby isn't connected to you for a few weeks as well. In my opinion it will be fine, but I do still limit my alcohol during the tww. I have to get used to none eventually anyhow!

I feel this same guilt! I'm in the TWW again today, 1dpo I think, and DH and I have tix to an 'Extreme Beerfest' this weekend that I got him tickets for for xmas. I want to get a hotel in the city for the night too b/c it's his bday on Monday! Not that I have to drink to have a good time, but it's kinda the point if you're going to a beerfest, right? So I guess I will, but just take it easy. And if I happen to have ANY symptoms, which I doubt, I'll take that as a sign and not drink anything at all. But like Lirpa said, the baby isn't drinking what I'm consuming for a few weeks anyway, so I should be in the clear. I just don't want to be irresponsible or mess up the implantation or anything - not sure if this would?

I think drinking in moderation in the TWW is fine. Like PP poster said, dont worry about 2 glasses of wine. I honestly think that you have a little time before the alcohol gets to baby. :) Enjoy yourself a little! :)

turns out we aren't going to go to the beerfest, so that takes care of that! :)

I'm drinking as normal until I get BFP. I did with DS as well, which included a holiday in Spain drinking massive rum and cokes (they know how to share out the spirits in Spain!). I felt really guilty when I got BFP and mentioned it to my GP but he said it really didn't matter - they're only concerned about women who drink every day during pregnancy.
