So everyone in my OHs family keeps asking me...

"Oh its getting so close, are you getting nervous?"
"Are you nervous about the birth/labour?"

No... I am not nervous, I am excited and I cannot wait!

Its like they think Im a creep because I actually cant wait for labour and birth! Just because they were scared doesnt mean I am too. I know it will hurt, but I am prepared for that. I am a very positive thinker, and I do have a pretty high pain threshold... so I have just got it in my head that I will do well and although it will be sore, I will love it all the same!

Sorry for the little rant, but it just feels like nobody understands that I am in fact EXCITED!!!

I know how you feel everybody is like ouch it is going to hurt, but before I got pregnant when I heard pregnant women say they could not wait to go into labour i thought they were a bit crazy. Now I am pregnant I completely understand so maybe they have forgotten and are being a bit insensitive

Glad you said that, I'm a little apprehensive but am also really excited; it'll be an incredible experience. I'm sure it will hurt like hell but even that isn't putting me off at the moment.... Maybe I should respond again in 10 weeks mind!

I'm the same.

I've been thro it once before so know that its going to hurt but the reward you get at the end is worth every bit of pain.

Holding that baby for the first time is just incredible and dims the memory of labour pretty quickly.

However, the look on peoples faces when you say you are looking forward to the birth is like telling them you're giving birth to an alien!!

I understand totally.. whenever I say omg im so excited I cant wait untill I go into labour I get sum strange looks.
I dont see why its strange - the labour is what makes us meet our beautiful babies.
Ive been through it before so I know the pain and I'm still excited, mainly cos u forget the pain straight after and all the pain you go through is worth it.
I say people who think thats strange are strange or just havent had children!! xxx

It's what - a day of pain (sometimes more, sometimes less) and then you get to meet your baby! Why wouldn't you be excited! I can't wait! :D
