Sorry if this is a bit long but here goes.

I had my dd in May 2012 and since May 2013 have been ttc no 2. I fell pregnant in March this year but sadly had a mc in May (was scanned and told baby stopped developing at 5 weeks even tho I was 9 weeks along).

Anyway, I seem to have a very short lp. Some months it is 5 days, others it is 11 (altho the average is 7-9). My periods are now so light that I use a panty liner instead of pad. Before having my dd my cycles were always 28 - 32 days long (and my periods a lot heavier) and now average 23 - 26 days, although I ovulate between days 15 and 19. I use temping and opks so I know I ovulate each month.

Before my mc, I had bloods done and my doc confirmed I was ovulating and said my progesterone was 'normal', but gave me no further info.

Can anyone give me any advice? I am desperate for another child but my body wont cooperate :(

I am going to try and see a doc again this week. From what I have read it seems the most likely cause is low progesterone, any other ideas? My docs dismissed the idea that a short lp stops achieving pregnancy so may have to put up a fight to get any sort of help.

Thanks everyone

Put your foot down and explain everything I am sure as you have had an MC that they will do bloods for you x

Thanks hun, they did bloods before and apparently all came back 'normal' and ovulating... bloods were drawn on day 21 but I dont ovulate until late so dont know if that affected result. I am going to be firm but still dont hold out much hope of them helping or seeing that there is an issue, knowing I am simply not going to conceive at the moment or be able to sustain a pregnancy is heartbreaking...

:( I am currently getting this issue resolved myself.
I have a primary doctor who refuses to do any tests yet, bloodwork comes back "normal". The specialist who diagnosed me with PCOS told me that my testosterone level was above normal and if I had more issues to come and see him again. I cannot get to that same doctor as he needs a referral from my primary, so I skipped a loop hole somewhere. Two days ago I was getting out of the shower and noticed rusty brown blood in the bottom of the floor and went to pee, and found out it was coming from me. Started getting severe pelvic pain to the point where I was bending over in pain even after 1000 mg of tylenol and was told to go to the er. Had to get transferred to another er as the U/S tech wasn't there where I found my saving grace by a ob/gyn specialist that personally referred me to go back Monday for a hormone appointment.
Sometimes you need a 2nd opinion. I apologize for the long reply but do not think that the doctor that you currently have is the ONLY one in control of your medical history. You know what is wrong and they need to listen to what you feel is going wrong. Took me almost a year of yelling to finally get someone to listen to what is going on and finding a doctor who is willing to help me. :)
