Am I right or wrong in thinking that this should also act as a 'baby monitor'?

I am confused by how the sound part of it works!

There are two settings for the sound.

Whats the problem? I may be able to help... lol

I read in the instrctions there are two settings. But no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to work as a sound monitor, i.e. I don't hear anything!

Maybe you have it on the setting where it sounds off unless baby makes noise? Mine was stuck on that for a bit after my son messed with it, we had to really read the instruction book to get it on the right setting. It was a huge pain, so confusing!

The microphone icon needs to be set to off and the wave and the icon next to it (can't remember what picture it is as it isn't in front of me) need to be showing for permanent sound.

If the microphone is set to on you only hear sound when it picks up a noise and cuts in.

I will have to have another look at it, the instructions the handset are really not that easy to follow! Unless I am very blonde!

Think we got it working now! Well it worked, switched handset off cause we don't usually use it, so will see next time I switch unit on!

Got it working, but it doesn't seem straightforward switching between the sound monitor & movement only monitor.

We have the movement monitor TIC sound on silent in the night usually

Yeah, it's not user friendly that's for sure. And it's not easy to change what sections it's going to cover. I always have it on the movement and sound, I don't have the ticking on because it drives me bonkers. I used to have the sound part on all the time when I was downstairs during the day, but now I only have the sound, when activated by his crying, and the movement part on whenever he's in bed.

The easiest way to test it is to take the handset in the same room as the base and talk into the base and see if you can hear it, or kick it, any sound will make it come on. That way you can see if it's working or not. Once you've figured it out it's second nature switching between the settings. I swear by mine ask any questions if you need!

If you press the Menu button, then the up button until u see the little man icon show up, if that makes sense x

I'm sure I will get it eventually! Nearly went & bought a normal monitor just for the sound yesterday as was getting so annoyed trying to work this one out!

Yes I have the TIC on silent too, it drives me nuts!

I have the monitor on silent in the night, I can see the flashing light on base to see she's moving, plus it goes off if she doesn't move. I just want the hand held unit for sound when she goes to bed before us / starts having day naps
