Hiya

I am looking at getting the movement only angelcare monitor. It is on offer at the moment reduced from £59.99 to £29.99! Who has one of these and would recommend? Wd dont have the cash at mo so would take it out of maternity savingd but I am thinking it is worth it as hubby is v.worried about lo stopping breathing and said he will sleep in the day so he can stay awake all night, I am guessing this will give him peace of mind if they are as good as they say!

Thanks!

Xx

I have the movement and sound and I would definitely recommend it. :)

As above, not sure about movement only guess it shows you something on screen if no sound or maybe that just no baby sound

I have it for my son its brilliant. The only thing is, once they get a bit bigger ( I'm talking 18 months!) And wriggle round the cot bed he has triggered the alarm as he's been sleeping across at the bottom so it didn't pick up his breathing. The other thing is don't use a battery operated mobile as the sensor picked up the vibrations from that as breathing

I find the night light (the blue light on the halo) creates the ideal lighting too. Just light enough to see where you're going and creates a nice glow in the room for baby. My children have it in their room as their night light so I'd better get them something else.

Agreed. But you only need the movement monitor for the first 6-12 months really.

Thanks ladies. The movement only has an alarm that goes off if breathing/movement isnt detected. I deffo cant afford the sound and movement one. Lol. But was hoping the movement only for the price would do.the job for peace of mind. Our house is v.small so sound wise we will very easily be able to hear lo if she cries. Xx

I know but we can't cope without hearing the tick tock noise in the monitor when we're downstairs lol

I have reserved the last one at my local Argos to collect today...I have a BT monitor which as reommended but I wanted the moement sensor so I am chuffed it is only £30!! I think any re-assurance is a good thing!

xx

Yup i have the last one reserved! :D our stairs are in our living room and bedrooms have baby gates so doors will be open so we can hear lo. It was just the breathing that concerns us, especially hubby! Xx

Anyone know where i can get the sound and movement one at a good price??

They do them at argos but think they are quite a bit. Or check ebay. xx

I got a sound and movement one off of ebay for £15 :) It is like new and was in the same town as we live so I collected it to save on postage. Get on ebay for a bargain! x

Thats fab!! I have been looking and they are going for like £50 odd!!! Lol. xx

I have the sound and movement one, tbh I'm no where near as impressed with it as the other ladies seem to be!

I ALWAYS forget to switch it off when we get up in the morning.. I have the movement pad on the highest sensitivity but, I get LO out of her cot, and put her on my bed while I get dressed and go for a wee, then carry her downstairs, and its not til I am downstairs and half way through changing her nappy that the alarm finally goes off!!

IF, god forbid, she did stop breathing in her cot, by the time the alarm went off I think it would be too late for me to do anything!

Oh gosh!!! Thats not good!!! I am so confused what to do! Lol. xx

Hmm just reading more reviews and they are saying it cant be used in a moses basket which was the main reason I wanted it for!!! Lol. xx

can i just ad, if a baby suffere SIDS it is unrevivable...... no amount of CPR will do any good! i done a research into it at uni and was shocked to find this

yeah the pad has to be placed on a solid base!

Oh gosh thats frightening missmayhem.

I have looked and others saying they work fab in moses baskets!!!!!! So confused now whether to buy a movement one or just not bother?!?!!!!

xx
