Another crazy woman......

Ok so iv got my scan on Friday which has been very slow at coming around and I'm sure like most, am fearing the worst. Iv still got really bad m/s my bbs are still sore to touch and Iv just started noticing a lil pouch that I can't breath in. BUT my tummy feels like there is nothing in there and I havnt been able to pick up hb since Last Sunday. Also been getting twinges and really bad back ache. I keep hearing about these poor ladies that have mmc. Iv had a mc and that wad hard enough but not finding out till ur. 12wk scan must be heartbreaking. Iv already had a scan at 6wks and another at 9wks and both were fine. Tbh I think most of this worrying is down to stupid Doppler that I got to help reasure me!

I know ur all prob thinking that I'm silly but I'm terrifide of going to that scan!
I'm sorry for this post there just seems like noone else I can talk to my OH doesn't seem understand or have the patients.

hi hun ur not being silly i'm am petrified of 12 wk scan evn though i have seen hb twice so far i had a mmc at 13/14 wks with twins in march this yr and i'm tempted to pay for a private scan at 10 wks then have 12 wk scan when u have had a m/c or mmc u do feel scared and i don't think it ever leaves any of us for whole duration of pregnancy x

Hello I am doing the same as you - I had a 7 week scan and saw a heartbeat, but I am still terrified of mmc. I have another 10 days before my 12 week scan. It seems like an eternity away. I'm sure we will all be fine but it is soooo hard not to worry.

My OH is the same he just doesn't see the need to worry if there is no real reason like bleeding etc (how sensible....)

i have mc twice in the past and havent had any reassurance scans at all so really trying not to think about the 12week scan til i have a date for it. As hard as it is try n relax and the doppler is going to struggle to pick anything up at this stage as its easier for baby to move away to a hard to reach area. Im sure that when u use it again at another time u will pick something up. Good luck hun hope all goes well xx

hi hun felt the exact same as you, had my scan on fri, was almost in tears on the bus going to it. ive had very few symptoms and felt very not pregnant, bought a doppler and could find the heart beat sometimes but was still convinced that there was something wrong, went to the scan on my own as oh couldnt get time off work, but scan was fantastic bubs was being lazy but got good views and all was ok even put my dates forward 6 days which was a bonus, went into work to show my scan pic and burst into tears i was so relieved, so the moral of the story is that im sure everything is ok and you will be so blown away by how much your baby has developed in a few short weeks..

Thank you all I'm trying so hard to be possitive and really want to enjoy my pregnancy. I know I'll feel so much better after my scan.

your chances of things going wrong after having 2 good scans is about 1%, sooooo slim, i just wish i could say something that would put your mind at ease, but i no how you feel coz instead of being excited about the scan i was dreading it, but you will be fine, baby will be swimming around wondering what all the fuss is about! xx

Feemee just like you I had already had two scans this pregnancy and had the most horrendous MS, sore boobs and a bump but was utterly convinced baby was not going to be OK at my scan. I wouldn't even buy a doppler before hand because I knew if I didn't find a HB I'd be a wreck.

It is normal to feel like this, your just preparing yourself in the best way you can to deal with shock/disappointment, however, MMC are so so rare and after seeing the HB before and still having symptoms it is so unlikely the odds are 100% on your side.

As soon as you see that HB on the screen relax and make the most of enjoying your scan experience....it is a long time until the next one!
