I'm going crazy over here in smart trike world! I've been looking at them for quite a while, and reading lots of reviews for different brands and models for the past couple of days and I still can't decide which one to buy. I'm leaning towards the Smart Trike 4 in 1 Safari. It's on sale at target and also on amazon for under $80.

Things that I want:
A locking mechanism for when your using it in stroller mode so that LO can't steer against you.

Foot pegs for when LO is not yet pedaling. I don't like the idea of the ones that lock the pedals expect LO to use them to rest her feet because I don't think she'll be able to reach, and she'll end up dragging her feet.

Rubber tires. The description of the Safari says they are rubber injected, which makes me think they are that rubbery plastic rather than actual air filled tires, which I'm fine with. I just don't want them to be hard slippery cheap plastic.

Either a harness or safety bars

A bucket for her to put stuff in, just because it looks like fun!

Soooo...which one do you have? Does it have any/all/some of these qualities? Is there anything you dislike about it? I think the actual Smart Trike brand has a higher up model that has exactly what I want, but I don't really want to pay a fortune either. But if someone tells me they have it and love it and wouldn't change a thing then maybe I would splurge.

I just went to the official Smart Trike website and now I'm even more confused! They have like 10 different models but it's really hard to tell the difference between most of them. This is driving me bonkers!

We have the smart trike dolphin. It ticks all the boxes. We brought it LO when he was 9 months and he is 3 now and still uses it. He hated his pushchairs hut loved his trike its one of the best £60 we spent. Comes apart easily to stick in the car and it even fit fine in our tiny Yaris. I also loved the littlr bag, its the perfect size for a couple nappies, wipes, purse, keys, phone and a snack.

Only issue with it, its so loud. It sounds like its about to fall apart. But the positives outweigh this.

We have the smart trike lady bug but it was on clearance so I think it was an older year model. We bought it for LO's first birthday. Covers everything you're looking for except I'm not sure about the locking mechanism...I believe there's a way to do it but have yet to figure it out :haha: We love it..LO loves it. It works. But there's definitely better ones out there, just more expensive!

I just ordered the smart trike vanilla from early learning centre website. They're on offer at the moment the one I got was half the price of amazon!!!

Ignore my post I just worked out you are not in the uk!!!however I know what you mean with the smart trike website, it seriously needs a facility to just compare the products point by point!

Thanks everyone! I decided to go with the one I've been eyeing for a while. Should be delivered tomorrow. I'm sure she'll love it, I'm the picky one!
