Hi ladies!

I am about 19 weeks and I have not felt any "flutters" of movement yet. I have an anterior placenta so my doctor said I might feel it a bit later than usual.

The past few days I have felt "something". But it is not the bubbly, popping feeling everyone has described to me. Instead I feel like a large pressure, almost like a have a big balloon trying to push out of me below my belly button. It last for 30 seconds or so, and then I might feel it a few hours later. Not painful at all! Just a dull pressure.

Could this be what the baby feels like through the "cushion" of an anterior placenta? Thoughts?

I have an anterior placenta as well. It was probably about 19-20 weeks before I really felt him move. Now he moves all the time. It seemed like it took forever for me to really feel him moving. Before you know it you will be feeling him move all the time.

Did your movements feel like those typical "popping", "fluttering" feelings everyone describes, or did it feel different being anterior?

PS- Cool! you have exactly 100 days until your due date!

my placenta is anterior but i still felt the popping and bubbles. am i can feel her kicking and stretching now. altho maybe being my 2nd its different ? i dont know, my placenta was posterior with jesse

I have an anterior placenta and I get *exactly* that feeling. I think it's a stretch/push...check out your belly when it happens, my guess is that you'll see or feel a hard "lump" somewhere. That's baby's bum, head, or whatever part he or she is pushing out! :)

I have an anterior placenta, the sonographer didn't actually tell me this at my scan I saw it on my notes after! anyway I have felt movement since 18 and a half weeks and it felt to me like muscle twitch, I know it wasn't muscle and it was the baby, felt how I imagined it would feel to have something poke me from the inside. Feel him everyday now and movements have just started to get stronger and think I felt summersaults yesterday lol but I dont think iv felt what you are feeling but it sounds like it is the baby pushing out? x

Hi! This is my first baby and I also have an anterior placenta. I felt little things at about 18/19 weeks but didn't know what they were or if I was imagining things until I felt a big hard kick at 20 weeks (although it felt more dulled to me but was unmistakable!!!) and then since then his movements have been more and more frequent every day.

They feel literally like something is moving inside me!!! I can feel him wriggle, and push out with his feet/hands/head or whatever and are always to the sides - not to the direct front centre.

One day in the next few weeks you'll feel the baby - and you'll KNOW straight away what it is

I didn't think popping or bubbles described my baby moving either but I didn't feel her till almost 20wks cos of AP. Then it felt like a muscle twitch, kinda like a heart beat but in my belly. Wasn't sure it was LO till it happened multiple times. A bit later on in my pregnancy when there was less room I got the pressure, bulging feeling when she turned over or stuck her bum out. Maybe this is what you are feeling, especially if your baby is long/big??

I have an anterior placenta and didn't feel baby until 22 weeks - at least I didn't feel the pops, bubbles and flutters until 22 weeks. I had the sensations you describe from about 20 weeks, but I spoke to a friend and she told me it was just my uterus stretching, as it felt like muscle twitching.

Since about 24 weeks I've felt the odd kick, have felt him outside once at 26 weeks.

Thanks ladies!! I'm going to assumes it's my baby, because I've never felt it before, and because it makes me happy to feel him :) xoxoxox

I have an anterior placenta and it took what seemed like forever to feel any proper movement!!
I had felt little things that i thought could be movement but wasn't sure. When i went for my scan at 19+2 he said to give it ten days or so and i would be able to feel loads more and he was almost spot on!!
Now (aside from today where its been a bit quiet) i can feel movement pretty much 24/7 whoever said babys sleep in the womb 12-14 hours a day is a big fat liar in my case lol!!
Sometimes its an actual kick or punch and other times its general movement, stratching turning over that type of thing.
Hubs has been able to feel it from the outside for about maybe 4 weeks or so which is brilliant for him and its still a bit weird to see your stomach moving about!!

I have AP also and started feeling little movements around 18weeks, I feel her pretty much everyday now at some point, normally later at night. I'd still say mine feel like popping/bubbles, but I think the pulsing/"heart beat" type also describes it...generally just a feeling i've never had other than now and feels different than gas so I know it's the baby. Just waiting now to be able to get a good feel from the outside!

Hey Jokerette - I have had similar feelings to what you're describing, except its always on my left side.. I don't really know whether its baby or gas since it's only been on one side (and there are babies on both sides). Besides that I haven't felt anything that I would think of as movement for sure and I have two in there (I also have an anterior placenta). Hopefully we will both feel the definite movements for sure soon =)

I also have an AP. Kind of a bummer, but at least we get to feel them!

I first felt her at 17w6d. It was the popping sensation. I didn't feel proper kicks until probably 22 weeks, and now they are just really getting ramped up. I feel her ALL the time. I can't distinguish between a kick or a movement for the most part, but it's still very cool. To me they feel like kicks :) The other day I felt a really, really weird movement. Maybe a somersault type thing. She was breech at my last scan (22 weeks), so maybe she turned? I don't know.

Also, I have felt that heavy pressure feeling before. It usually always happens after I eat. I will push on that area and it is a hard lump. I'm hoping it's the baby! Feels kind of neat, like a balloon pushing down inside of me.
