So my son has taken to beating the heck out of my cervix a few times a day. He makes it very VERY sore. I am SO desperate to get him to MOVE up somehow... or change positions. I have tried the whole hips up and down thing, the flashlight thing (which worked temporarily, but not anymore), changing positions, etc. I am seriously freaking out every time he hits it cause it feels like I am getting stabbed with a q tip for a pap smear every. single. time. Repetitively. I feel like he is trying to break out. My cervix measured at 4.8 cm 2 weeks ago and dr did a manual check today and said cervix feels perfect and is completely closed, etc. But what can I do?! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help... I am so very thankful for him, but these kicks terrify me to my core... I just feel like he is trying to break out early. Thank you.

Also, do you think if I keep feeling "kicks" low down like around my public bone/vagina/cervix area that he is breech again? Dr said he was head down at 18 weeks, so he could be punching. Is it more common for baby to kick or punch or both? Just curious since this is my first time here and I never imagined that a baby could kick you in such a funky area. Just never occurred to me!

No advice on moving baby off cervix these babies do what they want :haha:
they can def punch aswel as kick down there :)

Give it a few weeks then you'll be moaning about your rib cage! No advise minus giving birth, but I do find moving a bit helps as it forces her to move. Or if in bed rolling over. I also find it very comfy to be in a cat position yoga pose these days on the floor as its very relaxing as everything I think moves forward so I get relief from all types of pain, but its not practical to do that all day!

Are you sure its his feet? I thought it was feet until my doctor did an ultrasound and it was the babies head the whole time. And still hitting my cervix when the baby stretches and moves its head. I been completely sore down there.

Ouch! Not much advice, but I've found if I'm sitting crosslegged/ Indian style, my boy moves into my ribcage instead. It's a heck of a relief on my bladder.

My daughter was never breech and she loved going at my cervix - it just got worse as I got further along unfortunately. My son was frank breech and never kicked my cervix (he was frank breech) but the head under my ribs was worse. I could see my ribs bending out and couldn't sit normally for a month. This one likes to mix it up it seems so I get kicks and punches all over. If it's really uncomfortable then I find going on all fours and swaying side to side for a while will ease the pressure, but it doesn't usually move them out of the way permanently. xo

Don't worry, he can't kick or punch his way out. If that were the case there'd be babies dropping out of mothers left and right :haha: Not much advice though as they do what they want like pp said. Changing positions is probably the only thing to try. Good luck!

Oh hun if you think it's bad now just wait! Lol. I'm sure baby will turn soon so his feet are near your ribs and in the 3rd tri that can get really sore. I remember pushing my sons feet off my ribs because he'd just push up and into them constantly.

hahahaha you ladies are awesome! I have been cracking up reading all the responses! My dr did not do another US, but 2 weeks ago, he was head down so she said it could be his little fingers or head bouncing on it. So everyone feels the cervix thing too then? I guess I just never thought of that! My mom only remembers me being stuck in her ribcage and feeling like she could not breathe.

Guess I just have to embrace it! During the day, it is not so bad, but at night time, he goes CRAZY on my cervix. It just feels like I am getting a pap done every 2 seconds lol. It is all worth it though! Thank you guys! :flower::hugs:

I actually talked to my doc about this same thing...I didnt know how else to put it except for my cooch is killing me!! She just laughed and said welcome to being pregnant...I said when does it stop she said when hes outta there....so I know thats no relief for you but on a good note about 2 weeks later he moved up and now its so much better! But it was bad for about 4 weeks...I could barely walk!

My child has moved its head but once and is just locked and loaded to come out. Germans do ultrasounds every appointment so when he checks my cervix through vaginal ultrasound the head is always right there. And I am crazy feeling it now. My hips feel so heavy. It sucks because my first half of my pregnancy baby was always up high, now its never ending low and I am 26 weeks.
