Hi ladies...

Brought my bundle home this afternoon after 48 hours in hospital recovering from my section...

He's been good... We had really early skin to skin at my request and for four hours post op as well... In that time he finally latched and fed for 40 mins and fed on average every 5 hours for about 30 mins each time...
Since we came home this morning he's been hungry every 2-3 hours which mw said to expect. My boobs are now huge and starting to become firmer feeling...

Is my milk coming in? How will I know?
Bubs is latching really well now and I am swapping boobs (at the start he only wanted one)

Other then feeding him when he wants it do any of u have any tips?

I really wanna successfully bf and I have enjoyed every single minute of it so far despite the cramping in my uterus from bfing which hurts my scar a tad...

Thanks ladies and congrats on your lo's :)

Everything sounds food and normal!

Nursing, nursing, and nursing some more will help the engorgement. If you have a hand pump, taking a little bit out of each side can help you from getting too full if baby can't keep up. Just pump enough to relieve discomfort?

Your supply will regulate after several weeks. Until then, its likely that you'll make more milk than you need!

Ok kool thanks... More is better than not enough I guess ...

Mw said to express a little if I'm too full... There's a lot to remember and lots of little tricks... Silly me didn't realise lol... I just thought it was putting him on my boob when he was hungry end of story haha how wrong I was lol...

Still much easier then getting up to make formula tho

It took me a good long while to get the hang of breastfeeding! But it gets easier and easier.

The first 6-8 weeks are usually the hardest (but not bad, just a challenge at times)! So hang in there, it only gets better.

It's so great because you always have food with you, no matter what! ;-)

find your comfy spot on the sofa for when baby wants to clusterfeed which can take hours at a time, the whole evening for example!
eat well, drink well and rest as much as you can.
