I am SO frustrated this month. This is my first month of temping and let me start off by saying no, I don't set an alarm every morning to temp.. it's just too stressful for me. So, sometimes when I temp it varies by a couple of hours! The past 2 months I've O'd right around CD 14. This month I got two stupid positive OPKs.. one on CD 15 and then a SUPER dark one on CD 16! I was not expecting to O late so we wore out the BD'ing early on. The other day my FF chart said I O'd on CD 16 which was great but now today it says I O'd on frickin' CD 17!!!! Bad!!! We did not BD CD 17 or 18!!! :nope: With the way my temps look, I had a HUGE dip on CD 15 and then a huge spike on CD 16 I'd swear my egg was released by then. Can someone look at my chart and please give me some hope!?

My Ovulation Chart

I think your temps are too up and down to know for sure

Yeah, they are... but I've never had a temp as low as I did on that one particular day. :dohh:

Well if youdont take your temps at the same time your chart won't be very accurate. 30 minutes can make a .1 difference, which explains why your chart is so erratic. If you google bbt converter you should find a website that will change your temps for you it's fairly accurate. I would give you the link but I'm on my phone. Charting isn't stressful if you do it right, it helps you know what's going on. I'm more stressed out if I don't know what's going on. All you have to do is take your temp. If you did ovulate on cd17 you still have a chance hun. Sperm can live 5 days in the right conditions. Don't worry you're not out! :flower: xx

Thanks Taylor, I don't think I will do temps next month. I enjoy sleep too much and sometimes I wake up when DH is getting up for work but sometimes I don't. I just really don't want to wake up to an alarm every day. I am so cranky without sleep.

Use this to even out your temps; here is how I would do it, in your case: get up at the same time for 4-5 days to get a good pattern going, after that use the adjuster if getting up at the same time is too stressful for you.

Adjust any temp that has a difference of ten minutes either way.

Looking at you chart right now, I agree with FF, but it might shift some if you play with it. FX'd. :flower:

I know it can suck, but for temping to really tell you anything, you really should set the alarm for the first few days of your cycle. After that, you can adjust it. You'll see a pattern start to emerge.

Yeah, I guess I'm just not as committed to it. :( If no BFP this month (probably not) I might take a temping break. It only took us 2 months to conceive #1 so if I go on to month 4 this is all new to me! I used OPKs the first time around but not temping.

Here's a link to a temp adjuster.

Maybe if you adjust your temps to be within an hour of each other it'll make more sense?

ETA: Duh. I'm such a dork. Took me so long to find the link I didn't realise someone else had already posted it. Hope you caught that egg!!

I set an alarm and go back to sleep. Why don't you do that? Also I think ff is saying cd17 because of the pos opk. I sometimes get a pos opk the day after o too. I'd say you ovulated on cd16:)

I meant I think you ovulated on cd15** sorry it's hRs
on my phone

Well, the problem is once I wake up I cannot go back to sleep, no matter how early I wake up. It's awful. When I got the SUPER dark OPK on CD 16 it was very early in the day, around noon... I've never seen the line so dark before. I'm going to hope the egg was released on CD 16 because we got a BD in that night at least. I've been using preseed too so maybe that helped to preserve them a little longer!

Oh yeah you're fine! Hope you caught the egg!!:baby:

Im not an a early bird by all means....I hate waking up early... i am a miserable bit** in the am, but I have been setting my alarm to temp. Its not that bad...after a week you get used to it. I suggest doing it...a few days you might not be able to fall back asleep, but your body will get used to it and eventually you will. You dont need to set it for a crazy hour, just a 2-3 hours before you normally wake up.
If you dont take your temp same time daily its kind of pointless to temp. Thats why FF is telling you all sorts of things.

Yeah, but what's funny is majority of the time it is right around the same time... the days that have the biggest ups and downs were on the same time both mornings. So, I dunno.... I usually wake up when DH does so it's almost always around then except the few times I don't hear him and sleep an extra hour or two later. Oh well, good thing AF is due next week because I'm over the wait. Normally it's not this bad but my O was all messed up this month for some reason.

Are you able to fall back asleep after you wake up to temp?? I'm a big fan of sleeping in too :) but I've been setting my alarm for 6am even on weekends, to try to get a consistent pattern going. Of course, my cycles are long and this one seems to be anovulatory, but I'm still trying! Maybe set your alarm to the time you wake up during the week, and just try to go back to sleep?? I stick the thermometer in my mouth, and just turn it off and throw it on my nightstand once I hear it beep, I know it will save the temp so I don't worry about writing it down right then. Good luck!!

:dust:

It's fairly impossible for me to go back to sleep once I wake up to an alarm. I'll probably hang back on the temping thing next month. I'm not good at it!

Oops, sorry, my post was delayed and it ended up being a repeat of what people had already asked!!! Sounds like you know the general time that you are ovulating, maybe try focusing :sex: during that week, like cd13-18ish.

BUT I would say that you are def still in it this cycle!! Even if you ov'd a little later, I'd say you still :sex: in the fertile window since sperm can live up to 5 days.

Good luck!!
