Does it give your LO terrible wind? It's made her reflux loads better but now she's got awful wind and squirms loads during the night.

Using 3 scoops in a 8oz bottle at mo...

i use carobel with my little guy... i use it alongside infant gaviscon for silent reflux!! i also used infacol with it for the first few months to help bring wind up...hadnt realised that the carobel could have been the cause of making him windy tho...he is 7 months now and i havent used infacol in several months...i only use one scoop carobel to 7 and 8 oz bottles

Tried reducing it slightly to 2 1/2 scoops but don't want it to start her reflux again! She's sti got wind tonight, could tell. :-(

did you try infacol to help bring wind up? it was my life saver in the early days
or maybe you should go back to gp or mention to health visitor...they might suggest a different milk?!

I've used infacol before but stopped recently. I'll try again. Does it work with each feed or build up? I'm getting lots of burps during feeding, just not all or enough!

I used colief and carobel and had much happier baby - didnt seem to have too much wind. :hugs:

I still use gripe water before bed so he brings up all his wind, he gets a terrible nights sleep if he doesn't even though he burps himself most of the time.

You could try that, but maybe the carobel doesn't agree with her? You could ask to try gaviscon instead?

When did you use gripe water? After the feed? We're getting burps up at the time, it just seems to accumulate and come up later as well.
We tried gaviscon before and weren't fans. But I'm getting so sick of wind issues I'm thinking of dropping the carobel. :-(
Reflux or wind?? Hmmm difficult choice :-( x

Is your baby pooping okay? Only it bunged our daughter up. Trial and error hun. We used slightly less than one scoop then let the milk stand as it thickened then fed it to her.

Hi
Yeah she's pooping ok now but had to reduce it from 3 scoops for that reason. Is it likely the carobel causing the wind or because the teat is too big and she's gulping? Tried a number 3 teat yesterday instead of the y cut, but it took her forever to drink a tiny amount of it! X

3 scoops-you need the lager teat. Are you leaving it to thicken before feeding? If you dont it will thicken in the tummy and make digestion difficult.

This is a good site:

But remember this is only my experience:thumbup:

We used 3 scoops at first with y cut teat dr browns. Then reduced to 2 scoops with same teat. Leave it 4 minutes to thicken like it says on box. How long do you leave it? It seems to not be that thick with 2 scoops. Wondering if teat is too big and it comes out too quick?

We use 1.5 scoops and dr browns bottles and have no issue with wind

I used to give gripe water after but now I do it before (found best was in the middle but my boy will not have it being taken off him).

x

We use aptamil pepti and 7oz bottles x

i used infacol for every feed for several months to avoid any build up..i got it on prescription!!! i also used the anti-colic bottles for nigh time feeds & held my baby upright for feeds. i also typed into youtube- how to get baby wind up and got some useful tips
