Any chance this could lead to something??

I have the worst menstrual type cramps ever.I am almost in tears it is that bad.Also alot of cramping in my legs enough where it is actually hard to stay standing.Feeling pressure and sharp pains in what I assume would be my cervix.Should it really be this painful?I was 2cm dilated last week could it just be that I am dilating more?We are told to only go to L&D if contractions are 5 minutes apart.I would guess these are not contractions but they are very painful so do I just deal with it?

labour can be different for everyone. Have u tried pain relief? hot bath? if uve tried these and the pain is still unbearable i would call the labour ward. u dnt wanna leave it and find out u are in labour. Good luck

I would call L&D; the worse they can say is to stay home, but it would be better to know.

Sounds like contractions to me. I havent felt any real ones here latley, but I was admitted for threatened pretern labor at 33 weeks and the contractions I felt were like what your are describing. It was like period cramps so bad that they were in my legs and my back was killing me. I would definatley call the hospital especially since you are already 2 cm. I bet your in labor! Sounds just like me, and they have told me to wait until contractions are 5 minutes apart lasting 30 seconds or more... it might be worth giving l& d a call and see what they say as the pain is getting very uncomfortable for you. keep us posted..xxx
