My little boy is 3 months old and for the last few days he has been crying in his sleep during the night. The only way i can settle him is to pick him up and soothe him. Hes also waking at 3 or 4am (thats why im awake writing this as i get him back to sleep) when usually he will sleep through til aound 7 am.
Anybody know why?

Prehaps he's having a growth spurt.

My LO tends to do that. Just in the past week she starts crying, I go up and she's still fast asleep., The only thing that fixes it is feeding her. It settles her down again.
Probably is a growth spurt like said above, as the bottle is probably helping her tummy feel full enough to deal with it

x

ollie has being doing the same thing hun. ive been reading up about sleep regression and what ive found kind of makes sense. ill try to find the article i read for you but basically it explains that when new borns sleep they go straight into a deep sleep but between 3 and 4 months they start to sleep more like adults so they have periods of deep sleep and periods of light sleep.
just like as adults we might wake briefly during the night and adjust our pillow or check the time or what ever.
when we wake like this we are able to get ourselves straight back to sleep but seeing as most babies at this age arent used to self settling, they tend to wake up properly and then wake us up.

i hope ive explained well lol x

heres the link hun x

Poor little sweety,
You are not alone, my LO is 3 1/2 months and is doing the same, waking and wanting to feed much more often...could be a growth spurt - I hope it doesnt continue for long!
I've been told just to go with it, it'll improve soon enough.

My baby did this at 3 months too, he screamed at night and then cried, I think that they get scared because, you may have noticed your lo getting startled more often as they become more aware of their surroundings, they then dream about it. Luckily it only lasted a week or so and now everything's back to normal thank god!!
