Any NZers using Fertility Associates??

Any New Zealanders on this forum who have been through fertility associates & used some of their treatments?

Single, Lesbian or in a relationship - just wanting to ask some questions as I'm looking at starting the process of alternative treatments such as IUI or IVF after we've had 12 months of TTC with no conception.

We are only just going to start finding out why I'm not conceiving - but if there are any of you who have used the clinics in NZ - I'd be grateful to have your help & advice!!

We've been trying three months now & we have just organised a private referral to FA as I have a suspicion there is something going on due to my unpredictable cycle lengths.

I hope someone is able to help you out and answer some questions and I'm wishing you all the best for your treatments.

We haven't been trying long but I'm a worrier by nature and I just want to get it all sorted early on!

Hi there tuesdaysbaby! What part of the country are you from? Did you organise the appointment yourself? Or via referral?

Hopefully it's not a long journey for you & is a simple one! Would be nice!

Thanks KN - yes, I organised it myself just by calling them. They send out some information and forms to complete.

I'm hoping we won't need it and will be pregnant by next month but if not, I really want to get some simple tests done to rule stuff out.

Oh yepp - well good luck, I hope you don't need it too . But if not, the tests will be good. I've just had some tests through my go and if anything abnormal comes up - then my go will refer us to the hospital fertility clinic . By us I mean myself and donor hahaa.

Also - I'm from Hamilton .

It's weird getting replies so soon on threads… I'm used to waiting 12 hours or so with the time delay with most people on here so this is quite nice

I hope your tests come back 'normal' and you don't need further tests too. Do you do AI at home or? I'm not au fait with how that works but I've read a few peoples journeys and stories on here

Definitely the tron! I live on the outskirts though - so don't tend to get caught up in all the hustle and bustle. But I have to agree it's strange talking to someone on here only 2 hours away hahaa - rather than hours and hours away! Don't come across many NZers on here - hense the post.

Yes I've been doing home insemination for 12 months now My donor and I have become really good friends though - and we've both decided that if we need to go through a clinic, we'll do it as partners. Because after a year of ttc - neither of us liked the idea of someone else being the donor dad. Because I don't want closed donation, I want to tell my kid who it's dad is when the time is right. After 12 months, my donor - just fits all the tick boxes, and he's such a nice guy - that i don't know if I'd be lucky enough to find someone as good match as he is! I've read a few successful and unsuccessful stories though - so I'm just hoping to turn my story into a success.

The whole idea of fertility associates scares me though - organising it by myself! Hoping it's not needed, but need the plans in place if they will be needed
