It is so hard to keep up with the house and LO while DH is away for work. I have zero "me" time. While she naps I am either cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, lugging in loads of wood for the fireplace, and other odd jobs around here. Then when she goes to sleep for the night I am so exhausted I just want to pass out too. Since DH is away he wants to chit chat on the phone, and I feel so tired I only talk to him for a few minutes. We mostly email. Here I am spending precious free moments on BNB.

I guess I better get back to work. I know she will be up in 20 minutes from her nap. The kitty litter isn't going to scoop itself, and the trash needs to be hauled to the curb. ugh!

How are you other moms surviving in my position?

This! DH travels every week. If it weren't for jumperoos, walkers, playpens and baby DVDs I'd surely lose my sanity. And I always swear I'll play catch up when she goes to bed at night but I always end up on the sofa with a glass of wine and my iPad. Usually of this forum. :)
Every now and then I'll nap when she takes her longer nap in the afternoon. But I will admit, I do love the peace and quiet when DH is gone. When he's home the tv is always on. :)

My OH works away during the week and I find the same thing - talking on the phone can be inconvenient as there is always so much to do.
I have 5 children, 1 is a toddler and 1 a newborn baby so there is only a limited amount of time in the day I'm not chasing or nursing! Housework is difficult to get on with as the baby cries whenever I start anything or my toddler is somewhere else up to no good so as soon as they are asleep I have time to clean up - which is the time that OH calls :dohh:
It's hard being alone all week and I do tend to spend the weekend enjoying OH run around after the kids  but we manage through the week.
