Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone was a "shedworker" i.e. working in a shed/cabin/office in the garden? My husband and I take in turns to work in the loft/mind the LO, but increasingly I'm thinking a shed/cabin might be a good idea away from the household noise ;) Any one else do this? Got any advice? Not sure what to budget etc?? x x

You'll need to think about insulation, heating, electrical supply etc when costing it out. Also, if you are going to be keeping anything valuable or sensitive in there, then you will need to think about security as well. Many insurance companies won't insure shed offices without a fairly high level of security. I've looked into this before and the cost was definitely going to be too high for us, but we would have needed a very high level of security. Might not be so important for your work - depends what you do.

Probably easier in the loft :flower:

Thanks for your reply! I thought there might have been a few more mummies/daddies working from home in cabins. Yes, I think you're right, looking at the costs, things are racking up. But if we ever want baby #2 we're going to have get the loft bedroom back! ;) Ah decisions! x x
