I'm overweight and I feel a tremedous amount of guilt and wonder what impact my weight has on not concieving yet... I'll lose 15. Then gain it back. I want to be healthy and eat pretty nutritiously but I don't do enough and I truly blame myself for the BFN I get every month..

Any of you in the same boat?
I feel so lonely tonight :(

yes me, i find it soooo hard to loose weight. i also have no patience

I don't think being overweight impacts on conceiving? If periods and ovulation are regular, then you're good to go

Im about a stone from my ideal weight but was really big when i had my first babies was about 14 stone (190 pounds or something) never stopped me getting preg

I'm bout 150 pounds now ( we say stone here so guess work) and I think it's more my age (34) that'll cause me probs now :haha:
You'll be fine :hugs:

Me too! I lost 10 lbs the last couple months and I know I have gained it all back. The last 2 weeks I was eating everything in site! I am back to my normal diet now but I am scared to weigh myself because I know I am back to where I was a couple months ago. I feel the same way. If I could drop 50 lbs and get to a normal weight ( or even 20 or 30) I could probably regulate my cycles. Part of the reason I have gone to see my OB/GYN this year. I know hes going to say "You lardass. You have an irregular cycle because you are fat!" (exaggeration obviously but thats what I will hear!)
:hugs:

I am overweight and TTC!

I'm with Slimming World and have been for about 4 weeks now. We are just moving on to month 3 of trying.

The positive side to :witch: arriving is that I am losing more weight as each month passes which is good in the long run.

Yeah im fat and ttc.i cant lose weight well as have pcos.i find it really hard losing any.but ive had twins and that hasent helped me weight wise either.ive put on 5 st since being with dh :-{

I'm 79kg and 5'4" so according to all the BMI charts I am borderline obese

However when I was at the "ideal" BMI I looked like a walking skeleton, was constantly ill and my doctor was telling me I needed to put weight on

When I went to the doctor last week she said I could probably do with losing a couple of kilos but stressed that nutrition was far more important than weight and as long as you are getting all the vitamins, etc that your body needs to function on a bit of excess weight really isn't a problem.

i am over weight and ttc no1

i know plenty of girls out there who have been prego or are right now who are the same size or bigger than me

i think for me personaly i want to loose weight before i get my bfp as it'll make the pregnancy alot easier on both me and the baby

I would love to. What's a siggy?? :)

Thanks so much to all the ladies who replied. I feel alot better... My doc has said a few times to lose weight and most people around think it would be a good idea. But it's literally like the scale refuses to go down. Been eating very well for months And barely lost 5lbs... Oh well. I just want to do right by my baby :(

thanks guys!

Hi Feelcrazy,

Just to reassure you I am pretty sure I am one of the biggest ladies on this forum (UK size 24/26 and heavy!). It took me 11 months to get my bfp but that definitely had more to do with the fact that my cycles took months to go back to normal after 11 years on bc.

I think the only time being big affects fertility is when you don't actually ovulate and then sometimes if there's no other underlying problems losing a bit can help kick-start your system.

Good luck and try and not to get down on yourself - a healthy diiet is much more important than losing weight, in fact all the shit that some of the diet stuff has in it is best off avoiding all together!

xxxxx

I am overweight and it took me over 3 yrs and losing 40lbs to get Zander but I also have PCOS so I dont ovulate right now we are NTNP #3 and am back at the weight I was before losing the 40lbs so guess we will see...

I'm in the same boat. I'm about 20-30lbs heavier than I'd like to be and I keep losing and gaining the same 15lbs over and over again. I'm in my 3rd month ttc and I keep thinking that one of the main reasons I haven't gotten pregnant is because I'm overweight. I'm currently 14DPO with another BFN this morning. At this point I figure I must be out this cycle and am just waiting for AF to arrive so I can start yet another new diet. It's nice to know I'm not the only one going through these struggles. Sending you all lots of baby dust!

it mean in my signature

it's the big girls who are ttc or pregnant :flower:

Oh BLESS you. Were about the same size and I was starting to feel very down! I do ovulate and have normal periods. So I hope soon we will get preg! Congrats on your pregnancy! How do you feel??

I just want to say thank you so much for all the replies. I feel relieved. To be honest I didn't even want to post my feelings because I felt alone and embarressed. Not anymore though. Thank you so much guys. I appreciate you all so much. Especially this thread because I felt guilty about it and it's been Bothering me. Thank you!

no worried hun

one thing i have learnt since being on here is no matter how silly or embarrasing there is always someone else in the same boat as you ;) x

I am overweight, and I honestly dont think it is a issue. But I also hope I am not like my mother, she would try to conceive and wouldn't be able to, after losing 10-15 ibs with each of her pregnancy she would be able to. But many overweight people can conceive without losing weight, so I honestly think it depends on the person.
